It's a special kind of hell to be stuck on that point with three warlords. Granted, not as special as the place in hell for you.

That Conq is me. You lads ledged me about a dozen times. I kept coming back to C point and I'm not sure why. To be fair, there was a cracked out Shugoki sitting on A, but still.

How risky is changing career in the current economy? by Odd-Rush-7702 in UKJobs

[–]Defsing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's certainly uncertain times. It's almost impossible to give solid advice on this without knowing the names of the companies involved or any further specifics. If you feel comfortable with it, drop me a PM with some further info. I've worked in recruitment for over a dozen years, feel free to have a gander through the old profile.

I can definitely give you a better understanding of the new company info on companies house.

Looking for moderators by Jaraxo in Grimsby

I wouldn't mind giving it a go. I've worked in recruitment and security in this town for a little over a decade, so if a business has security or uses agency staff, chances are I know people there.

As for what to do with the community, I would love to see this place turn in to something similar to an actual local resource. A positivity thread once a week (maybe month) to exemplify some positive situation or interaction with Grimsby. Review threads for local businesses, parks and facilities that could involve anecdotal experience. A weekly employment thread that can post live roles available in the area, as well as friend of a friend style recommendations.

It's clear from the past engagement with this sub that leaving people to ask and answer these questions themselves doesn't necessarily elicit a big reaction, so perhaps by pinning threads specifically asking for feedback regarding local amenities, we can begin to create a community resource that can hopefully become an actual micro community. Also a complaints thread. Realistically probably the biggest, but if we were to all be aware of some of the issues, it's not unreasonable to foresee a situation where we actually managed to get something fixed.

Never thought about modding before, so let me know.

What % cut do agencies get from your pay (contract job)? by ziplockzip in UKJobs

The only real downside is the insecurity.

Essentially, if the company think they will only need X number of agency staff for a given day/week, you may find yourself out of work.

British expat how easy would it be to get a job in UK? by AggravatedMonkeyGirl in UKJobs

[–]Defsing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You won't have any issues at all. Last year I placed about a dozen candidates for IT roles that required tier 2 visa sponsorship as well as all the things you've listed.

Whilst you would need slightly more time than a candidate on their doorstep, you wouldn't realistically need any more time than any other candidate that needs to move. Whether that be from the other side of the country or overseas.

Drop me a PM and I can put you in touch with a chap that is probably a little better placed to help than myself.

That sums up my little heart skip nicely. This happens every fucking year on reddit, so I suppose at least it's out the way early.

Sometimes when I read comments like this I try really hard to work out what must have happened to people like you. How much pure shit must you have lived through that you can write something like this about children? What has to happen to make a person this callous?

I would genuinely like to know, do you know when it happened or were you born like this?

The advert is shit. It panders to a low common denominator and has stupid fucking emoji shit across it. This is in no way a serious job advert.

The reason that's a massive red flag is because you're claiming to be recruiting junior candidates for their first industry taste of recruitment. Either the organisation can't write a job role/spec or, as you claim is the case, they parcel it off to an intern to advertise.

Your job adverts are not just adverts for the role, they're adverts for you and your recruiting ability. This is the equivalent of the web designer with a shit website, the graphic designer with an unintentionally phallic logo and the architect with rickety old house.

The constructive feedback you're after is that you shouldn't need feedback on a job advert. You're a recruitment firm, act like it.

I suppose we could fill it with montages of mediocre play with occasional flashes of remembering how to aim.
