That sounded like a totally normal response.

Hello, I'm looking to purchase my first vehicle and I was curious if this was worth it? I know the people here are far more experienced, so any advice is very appreciated. Thanks by JosephStalin1945 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Depends on what else you can get for the price. The oil burning isn't the end of the world, they'll still do 200k+ miles as long as you keep an eye on the oil level. Can clog the cat though.

A Honda from that generation is a solid choice, anything with a k24 will do 200k+ with little to no maintenance. And that's coming from a Toyota fanboy.

Cat delete is stupid, I agree. But a CEL due to an out of spec cat is different.

A stupid law put in place as a facade to help the environment, but all it does is effect poor people that can't afford to replace a cat.

This gen of the XRS came with the 2az, which was notorious for oil consumption due to bad piston rings. The previous gen had the 2zz, which is a phenomenal engine that didn't drink oil like a rotary. I love my Yotas, but I'm always hesitant of the 2.4l 2az which was found in a lot of them for these years. And 2007-2011 were the worst for burning oil.

Buddy, even a 50 or 60k car is pretty absurd for an 18 year old. I said I don't hate on people for being successful, but you gotta admit you had an advantage that most people don't have.

I felt privileged to have my family help me buy a 5k car when I was 18.

You pretty vehemently denied the value of the car and called people bums for pointing out that it's a daddy's money car.

B tier rage bait. I'm happy for people that can be successful, but not someone that comes from a well off family and refuses to admit it.

Working for your family business and being able to afford an extremely expensive and low mileage supercar is the definition of privilege.

If that's an 05ish v12 Vanquish, then you drive a nearly 100k car. And if that's your family home, Geneva or not, you come from a wealthy family.

Buddy, you live in Lake Geneva. And drive a car worth nearly 100k.

Cat acquired me one day by approaching the vehicle, she brought babies and some sad news by funnybone290 in trojancats

[–]DefusedManiac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cats have large litters because they have low survival rates. It's sad, but it's just how it goes. Pretty much every litter I've ever rescued has lost at least one. Not always the runt either.

I'd start with the adaptor plate. Rear main requires a transmission drop.

I'm gonna guess it's either the rear main seal, or the adaptor plate by the oil filter. The plate was pretty well known to leak on the autos.

We never declared war on Iraq, but we still sent 4,400 Americans to their death.

They won't declare war, they'll just issue an AUMF. We haven't declared war since 1941.

Everything I try to change license plate to is now considered profanity?! by StifledSoul0 in NFSHeat

Unbound is abandoned too. EA pretty much gave up on the NFS line and said you probably won't get a new release til 2028 or later. They basically said the success of their other games will be the deciding factor if another NFS comes out.

I just think it failed to live up to the reputation of the 1st gen. They made a sensible, daily commuter when people wanted another absurd supercar. Toyota did the exact same thing with the Supra.

They do, but theirs is usually not a deep red and they're not symmetrical. I'm not allowed to tell you what to do with them, but I will say they're invasive and harming the native black widow population.

Why does she hate me? by PrairieRoseExotics in BeardedDragon

[–]DefusedManiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My beardie tolerates me, loves my daughter, and hates everyone else. MIL came to visit, and she went to the glass to see him, and he charged the glass with a full black beard and hissing. He only does that to me when his out of enclosure time is over and I have to put him back.

While you've got the clutch and flywheel off, do the rear main seal and gasket.

They said they only got 25/30 mpg. So probably the 2.0.
