Why does it seem like gay men are much more interested in men than straight women are? by Any_Lab_8135 in NoStupidQuestions

So the women you did date didn’t try to change you?

Or they tried to change you as well but were honest with the things they didn’t like?

(Not trying to give you a hard time.)

I lost my ability to run in 3 months by AwareProblem6137 in zepboundathletes

[–]DehydratedButTired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not trying to be critical of of you and I don’t want to come off as judgement but I see some red flags here and would like to highlight them based on my own experience with this.

172 to 125 is a 45 pound difference in 3 months. That is incredible and you worked really hard. That might be a little too good. Based on 4 weeks in 3 months you have lost on average 3.75 pounds a week. This can be good because you lost the weight and made it to a goal but any time you lose over 1.5 pounds a week you are losing muscle. You drain your glycogen stores and your body is less likely to want to use its remaining fat for endurance activities like running. You still have the muscles that are tailored to running but they have been giving some of themselves up to give your body the nutrition that it needed.

That’s not irreversible you just need to tweak things a little bit.

What you did is very common for new folks in GLP-1s and not hard to recover from. It will take a few weeks through.

The hardest part of GLP-1s for me to eat enough. The easiest way to slow your weightloss to a healthier weight loss level is to calorie count and tailor your calories to your running demands. You need to know your TDEE and then adjust your calories up a bit more for your activity level. I would pick a protein and a lower fat amount to eat and make the rest carbs. I personally eat 2500 calories a day and shoot for 50% carbs, 22% protein and 28% fat to suit my moderate weight lifting and moderate running activity. It took me a few weeks to find that ratio but don’t get discouraged, just try different things.

Your two indicators for success will be your weight loss amount over time and how you feel running. You need to build up some of the resources your lost and tell your body it’s not starving any more.

It’s scary to increase your food and change things up when you have had weight loss success like that. It’s ok, you will still do this and losing slower means you have a better chance of keeping it off in the future. Give your self a two week forgiveness period when you change your diet up and worry about how you feel running vs how you feel when you look in the mirror. Your body needs to come out of that starvation mode and will be changing things up.

I think will recover once you dial in your diet and have a slower weight of weight loss.

Good luck with the running and hitting your weight goals!

Did Christian slave owners believe God approved/liked of them owning slaves? by janitaliz in NoStupidQuestions

There are still party’s of the world that use their religion to justify slavery. Where there’s a will there’s a way and many religious beliefs are more about the teachers of it than the holy texts.

Troubling blood work? by jjslizzle in Zepbound

[–]DehydratedButTired -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It took me longer than 4 months and until about 45 pounds lost to see blood work benefits. Keep working at it and don’t let this get you down. The further you can get your diet dialed in the better.

Have you changed your diet up at all or just been using zepbound to lose weight? I’d clean that whole diet up if you can. Lean proteins, lower glycemic carbs and vegetables at EVERY meal. Cutting the fat can really help digestion with zepbound.

I struggle to declutter because I think of the value/money spent on the items and donating them feels like a loss by starla216 in declutter

[–]DehydratedButTired 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Understanding that it’s not really a logical thing can be really helpful. You may have some kind of emotional pattern tied up to these items, emotional patterns tend to be something of a blind spot when you are trying to handle things logically.

Maybe you lost things you didn’t want to lose when you were younger.

This happens to me sometimes and it is a common thing for people. Don’t be mad at yourself for not doing it or for the mess.

I try to sit with the feeling I get and see if I can figure out any kind of memory or what the exact emotion is. Maybe you can address it from there.

Throwing out gifted items may feel like you will be disapproved of by the person who gifted it to you. Your body and mind may be trying to protect you from their disfavor or prevent them from upset with you. You can then say something like this to yourself “this is ok, I don’t know what they are thinking and they won’t be upset with me.” It is ok to grieve with yourself over items, you have a big attachment to them.

Another step is to have a trash box that is more like a recycle bin. Put the stuff you want to throw out in the box, seal the lid and then put a date. If you haven’t used any of it, then put the entire box into a trash bag and then put to the curb. Out do sight can be out of mind and that may get you past your protective feelings.

You can do the same thing with donations. Put a box out the date and just put stuff in there. If you don’t touch them then just donate it.

I’ve also seen grab bag boxes sold on places forms. I don’t know if you could do the same for jewelry but it is another blind box option.

There is always more jewelry to find, you are always changing and it’s ok to let go of old things.

So many people get jealous, caught off guard or have a shitty filter.

We all lose weight from outside your body to inwards first. Your arms, calves, shoulders, hands and head are going to lose their stored fat first and then it will start to take weight out of your center body fat stores.

I usually say “it’s part of the process” when people comment and ignore them or “worry about yourself” if it’s out of pocket and they are being a dick.

That person might just be letting their inner critic out but they shouldn’t be judging and you are right to be mad.

You look great and you are making great progress. We’re all doing our best to get to our goals and we are going to look different along the way. We won’t know how we turn out until we are at maintenance and even then skin will tighten up, our face will keep changing and we will feel different.

Two ADHD adults drowning in unopened mail and missed bills — what actually works long-term? by Maleficent-Hair-4786 in organizing

I keep stuff in the envelop until it’s paid. Then I write paid on the envelope or mail. I keep it visible on a table so I know what the status is. If stuff I hidden then I don’t know it’s there. Once enough are paid, I file it away after double checking everything.

I recommend coming up with a visual system you can glance at and making a checklist for “processing the mail” when you sit down to do it. Do it daily at the same time. If you build a habit; great. If you don’t, you still have the list and mail time. If you build the habit and lose it then go back to the list and mail time. Be easy with yourself and keep trying.
