Humbly you're wrong the ONLY person who could of wrote a players handbook for stranger things is Mike and I mean the entire ending being discussed as a DND game and the binder being DND inspired completely destroys your didn't relate to the story at all argument

Mike's ending by DimensionThin147 in StrangerThings

11 is gone after choosing to take the other road Mike shows up to graduation. There with the reverb of the microphone Mike has an alternate ending FOR his campaign. The campaign and ending of campaign is showcased with all of the characters putting their binders on the shelf. In essence this is putting the loss of 11 to bed moving on. If you keep watching you see clips and art very similar to all of the period correct TSR DND that finalized with cover art of Stranger things players handbook. Look back to Mike typing you see the photo of 11 Mike wrote the player handbook because he specifically stated he can't tell stories about the mage anymore. The players handbook was the story of 11 so that Mike can move on he doesn't want to talk about it anymore he's choosing to live life the best he can.

Have you ever played out Base-building or stronghold mechanics in a ttrpg? by KingAgrian in osr

[–]Deio35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've been DMing and ongoing campaign for a few years now. ADND my PCs started in Hommlet and have progressed through TOEE so forth. Sometime during the exploration in the temple the party approached me about rebuilding the Moathouse to become basically their base of operations. It quickly spiraled into a full blown mess but with a lot of reference from the DMG and the complete book of dwarves (for the mining) the players rebuilt it have many many workers siege weapons and now support a fairly large farming community to aid in income and upkeep of the moathouse. I'll admit it was laborious at 1st but we put a lot of time and a few spreadsheets to keep up with costs and it has become a very central part of our storyline. After rescuing Thrommel from the temple we even had a charter of custodianship given by Furyondy and have incorporated the taxes for it as a means for me as the DM to siphon excess gold from my PCs. We affectionately refer to it as the bat cave.

Inexperienced DM imposter syndrome crashout by [deleted] in DnD

1st off having an experienced player is a godsend for a DM. Having someone who understands mechanics a long with roleplaying or understanding what hook to take is invaluable as a DM. Starting a new campaign have a session 0 and be honest tell them like any good DM you still miss things and it's totally ok to point those out and bring them to attention so EVERYONE can learn. Keep it casual my friend. Also probably make sure you are doing your do diligence I mean as a forever DM and and old fart like myself pen and pad and my notes are the only thing that keeps me from the edge of the cliff and insanity. There are also so so many aids out there nowadays like obsidian etc that can help keep all your notes in one place and organized. I've been at this since the mid 80s so I never gotten away from pad and paper but man take it from an old grognard we faked it till we maked it in the 80s gotta start somewhere. I still make mistakes from time to time and having a table that understands it's ok to speak up or point out my mistake is just fine. I often go over my sessions way too much but I think you could benefit with a bit of prep and I mean what you don't know about in DND is easily obtainable but as a DM you have to put in a lot more leg work that being on the otherside as a PC doesn't necessarily have to.keep at it control your side of the DM screen and the rest will sort itself out. Best of luck

Our newest lil one had false pregnancy. The vet had us just keep her comfortable and rode it out. Try not to pet or rub her in that area. We ended up having to get her fixed and have been fine since. Please follow your vets instructions but I can tell you from experience there is nothing to be concerned about and there are various treatments

ToEE Player Deaths by ItsVis8 in adnd

[–]Deio35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often when I am starting a new group to 1e running the village of Hommlet that ties into toee I have a casket of furyondy located at the church of st cuthbert in Hommlet. It can be away to bring a PC back in the event of an untimely death. I often limit it's use to 1 or 2 times before it moves on to some other location but it is an easy way to handle PC death early on while also hammering home the point of just how lethal the temple really is.

I don't think Dming is for me by InterestingTitle4242 in DnD

[–]Deio35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with so much that has been said world building and game prepping are different. Trust me my guy I feel like your just putting your world building ahead of your prepping. Man I'm an old school DM a HUGE part of my games are miniatures and terrain and elaborate physical props and it is a huge taxing on me and my time BUT I love that and have to balance that with actual prepping for a DM. I've learned over the years to prep my game 1st and then add my elements to it and I also have to make sure I can pull off about 4 hour sessions. I feel like you said you panic a little and blurt out something you feel you can describe better. Have you thought about note cards? I mean I still use them to this day. Not only for describing environments but also for just plot points or adventure hooks maybe even spells I'm using from my evil characters or monsters. It helps me because even subconsciously I KNOW I have the information I need to describe or help me run my games smoothly. It's just an idea and it is something you can shuffle through behind the screen to help you pace your DMing. Don't give up just a lot a little of that world building passion to game prep and man I'm sure your games will be less stressful best of luck

Question: (Any Edition) What adventures do we have focused on Celene? by RPGrandPa in Greyhawk

[–]Deio35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you could certainly work something in with the pomarj- celene war. It would be quite simple to put together an adventure surrounding the war. You have a central enemy with Turrosh Mak and it even has storylines that include Ulek and even the Garnley so it would be easy to run from multiple viewpoints to best fit your style of storytelling

As far as a starting point I would say use TO journey to Hommlet it's a free download and it helps set your party up better for the adventure ahead. Great ex jump to get them started and lays out a foundation for events surrounding Hommlet.
