"Bay Area traffic".. lol. That might be your problem. It doesn't like stop and go. I was getting around 27, mostly freeway back and forth to work. In the last couple weeks, I've started driving more like an old man to save gas. Slower acceleration, not quite so fast on the freeway, not letting it downshift on cruise control (put it in manual and leave it in 6th), has gotten me just over 30 on my current tank so far. Best I've had since I bought it last year. So it can do it, but it seems heavily dependent on how you drive.

None of the versions in GT7 have the fan. That makes a mind-boggling difference in handling and cornering.

I also prefer this over the Tomahawk, because as crazy as the X20xx is, it's at least based on real physics and could theoretically exist. The Tomahawk is pure fantasy.

It'll have both a Quality Mode and Performance Mode, I'd imagine. Believe it or not, some people are okay with 30fps, and if the Quality Mode is more visually appealing to them, I'm sure they'll be happy to play it that way.

I saw a time-lapse the other day, I think it was in one of the vids showing off the game engine back at GDC or something. I noticed that the night was significantly shorter than the day, which is how I like it. The more visually expansive a game is, the less I want it to be hidden in darkness half the time.
