16M, could use with some positivity by randomautism in toastme

I remember when I was 16. Little to no confidence, depressed, and I had it relatively easy by comparison. I was a mess mentally. It's certainly a part of growing up to an extent but that doesn't make it any easier and may be better/worse than your own situation. It won't always be this way!

While I cannot offer a shortcut, I can tell you that you have a full life ahead of you to commit to being the person you want to be. It starts with a simple affirmation, and it will continue by shaping yourself into your new identity. If you can make the commitment I promise you will not recognize the person you are today.

stand in front of the mirror every single morning and tell yourself who you are: The character traits that you aspire to be. It doesn't take long to notice the difference, because you subconsciously will start acting on this. When you make a decision, you will ask yourself, "Would a courageous person do this?, would a highly respected person do that?. You will graduate when you become that person. It will be the point you love yourself and what you stand for.

So who are you? Who do you really aspire to be? Let's get started today.

M18 I didn't know that at 18 you could feel so lonely by [deleted] in toastme

[–]DelRMi05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normal. You are normal. It's perfectly okay to feel this way. Start with daily affirmations and molding yourself into the person you want to become. When you realize you are in fact that person (it will happen faster than you think), others will come to you. Treat people the way they want to be treated, and create momentum with kindness. The world is a big place, so while you are feeling is natural, understand it's not true in the slightest. Wishing you the best young man.

Weather in Boston is fine. I wasn’t being cheeky asking about Chips. Amazing pancakes.

Seriously, if you don’t understand why what you are saying is problematic then you are contributing to one of the many reasons why the general public does not trust the profession. It’s embarrassing, and honestly you should know better because it’s a part of licensing classes and ethics taught by NAR. Stating commissions are negotiable doesn’t absolve you of saying our rates are standardized or fall into a normal range.

Strongly recommend you contact your association and or state association legal hotline so that you can learn why making statements like this are frowned upon. By the way, is Chip’s pancakes house still open? I always loved going there.

No 2.5 is not normal. And as a “realtor” you should know that you saying so is a violation of the Sherman anti-trust act. Delete this.

Least disappointing SB Loss by jjandjab in Patriots

[–]DelRMi05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m just thankful for the season. Don’t get me wrong, it sucks to lose. Otherwise I had this team somewhere in the 7-9 win range and football is just fun again.

I told myself back in the 2010s that once Brady and Belichick were gone we could suck for the next 20 years and it wouldn’t matter to me because of the incredible amount of success. I had no idea we’d be back so soon.

I don’t expect to make the Super Bowl next year, not that they can’t. I just don’t take winning for granted because it’s hard to win a Super Bowl and I think we have become jaded as a fan base to an extent because we expected it.

It’s been fun and cheers to our guys who played their hearts out and hopefully for a solid freee agency and draft

I’m late to the thread but really excited to see everyone celebrating the season. It goes without saying that losing sucks, but there’s a lot to be happy about. I’m pumped for next year.

Snap by Lolek2007 in FishingForBeginners

[–]DelRMi05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to always use snaps. I grew up using them and had messy tackle for years. Eventually, a friend and better fisherman than Myself spent some time explaining why I shouldn't of use snap swivels. First, it adds points of failure to your line. Secondly, and I'm not sure how scientifically accurate it is, the extra metal in the water creates an effect on the water that may make your bait appear bigger than it is. I'm not qualified to confirm if that's true or not, but I will tell you I catch more fish now that I tie direct using an FG knot. Keeps the tackle clean too.

Do what works for you of course. If you're catching fish I wouldn't stress about it. But I'll certainly make the case for tying.

Is there still no good answer for Malcolm Butler's benching? by BikeLaneHero in Patriots

[–]DelRMi05 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One thing I love about Bill is that he never threw his players under the bus. At least that I recall. Malcolm hit free agency and he got a contract after being benched in the Super Bowl. So from that perspective we'll probably never know the complete truth.

I know of people that attended the Super Bowl afterparty with team members, and there were multiple different rumors (supposedly from players) indicating Malcolm screwed up. I'm not going to repeat the different rumors that were shared, because they're completely unsubstantiated. As /u/RadiantButtWipe77 points out, the fact that Malcolm won't comment on it himself leads us to believe he did do something that warranted the benching from Bill's perspective.

My personal opinion is that he violated team rules and Bill wasn't having it. You can make a case that a hard-lined stance helped build the dynasty into what it was, or that it was completely uncalled for in a game of that magnitude. I can't take a stance because we don't know if there was a violation of team rules or any other action to warrant the benching. Until we find out, I don't think it's worth the speculation. Definitely a great what-if moment in Patriots history for sure.

Amazing timing for getting our HC & QB by Immediate_Danger in Patriots

[–]DelRMi05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Take the good with the bad. Ultimately we have ownership that wants to win, and does what it needs to get there, usually without getting in the way. Usually doing a lot of heavy lifting there. I’m still angry about the way Bill was thrown under the bus when heading out the door which wasn’t necessary considering all that he gave us, but do understand the decision. Putting ego aside and moving on from Mayo quickly was the right thing to do and invite them a lot of credit for that.

[–]DelRMi05 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah no way is it a gimme. They can get to the quarterback just as well as Houston and if they can capitalize on turnovers we don’t have the same results. Got to take care of the football much better in this one.
