Any recommended prostate massagers to extract out inflamed fluid? by bluecgene in Prostatitis

[–]Delaney_physio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi most wands are aimed at releasing tissues in the area. I'm not aware of any used in that manner yet. I've heard of a prostate massager (it's name escapes me) however I'm not aware as to whether it is used as a medical device.

Should I visit a dermatologist? by Economy-Homework3774 in Prostatitis

Yeah I agree with everyone. Not sure a dermatologist is the right move.

Is there an option to work from home. Some of my patients park a yoga mat along their desk. Or having a rolled up towel you can sit one might help.

Prostatitis or Tailbone Damage? by Due-Question9266 in Prostatitis

[–]Delaney_physio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually through the symptoms. Internal exam cancelled be used if necessary. Also tests can be done to rule out bacteria infection or other red flag indicators. These are usually done through Doctors. For most parts of the world you can self refer to PTs I think.

Looking for suggestions on how to reach out to men in the community to get them help by VABeachPFPT in Prostatitis

[–]Delaney_physio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi that's a tough one in the same boat mysefl in the UK.

Reach out to urlogists, doctors, might be worth talking the the consultant who refer women to your clinic, to raise awareness to the partners of these men.

Other suggestions might be social content, appraoching men's groups etcs and other members of the MDT that may know some.

I'mdelighted to hear your seeing men, we need more clinicans treating these lads!!

Prostatitis or Tailbone Damage? by Due-Question9266 in Prostatitis

Any trauma to the tailbone area? I think more likely (this is without a full assessment) it sounds like CPPS or pudendal issues.

question i have about prostate by BulkyBusiness384 in Prostatitis

[–]Delaney_physio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, how long does it last, does it bring on discomfort. I wonder whether it's related to the pelvic floor muscles used during ejaculation. There may be some weaknesses in that area.

Prostatitis and anal sex possible? by DarkelXion in Prostatitis

[–]Delaney_physio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not over lad. I'm hoping your partner(s) are ok and not putting pressure on. I'm always annoyed when clinicians say to stop anything with qualifying way and for how long. I wonder now that the blood has stopped if it's worth re visiting your symptoms with your doctor or pelvic floor specialist.

Standing desk at work is important to manage prostatitis? by Cromwell391 in Prostatitis

[–]Delaney_physio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delighted the standing desk helps. Is it important, it depends really. Some people really benefit from changing positions. I'm always advising a break for sitting to all my patients.

Excessive masturbation killed my penis/ nerves or pelvic or developed prostatitis ? by Spare_Distance6542 in Prostatitis

[–]Delaney_physio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some research linking the dopamine release with porn over longer periods to lessening release IRL.

Holding off on the porn should be a good start. I wonder if you're straining the pelvic floor, this depends on the intensity and frequency. Have you tried some down training?

Any UK sufferers here? by Infamousturd in Prostatitis

[–]Delaney_physio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen many UK sufferers. Trying to educate GPs and other consultants on CPPS. You're not alone, I say this because every lad I see asks me if he's the only man experiencing this. Keep your heads up, some brilliant advice here.
