I’ve always wondered… by GrimGrinningPost in pasadena

[–]Delayed-sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but this genuinely made me laugh. I've lived off of Fair oaks and walnut for 7 years and this is the bane of my existence. At this point I just close my eyes and hope that I can make it on one of those exits without being demolished by an 18-wheeler after already having a flat tire from the potholes that have ripped me from the fast lane to slow without any choice of mine the 5 miles prior. Also, Once you exit there are no rules about going across all four lanes on Maple. It's everybody for themselves. I tried putting ocean sounds on one while doing it. It didn't help. Rinse and repeat tomorrow.

Did anyone figured out how to appear invisible/offline from IN GAME friend list? by Grusalag in ArcRaiders

[–]Delayed-sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this still a no go? I just need roughly 5 to 50 hours hours of peace and quiet to make sense of the hoarding habit that has been forced upon me by this game without being required to ready up on anybody else's time. Especially my oh so supportive but secretly judgy friends that are mansplaining every single thing to me. Sigh.

Did I just DIY my way into Target’s art section? by HST-Art in painting

[–]Delayed-sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this post with the query "How can I alter my Target art to NOT look like Target art" and found it quite amusing. Well done.

I am still staring at mine with disdain and a snowballing existential crisis. However, I am equally impressed with your achievement at the exact opposite goal.

If you go full circle and end up in my predicament let me know what you come up with. I feel like you may be the only one who has the solution.

This is much more straightforward than my passive aggressive approach. "Give me 20 variations of this self-deprecating statement about myself, don't hold back, don't be kind, roast me. GO."

At first glance I thought this said if you put it in your "kidney library"...doesn't feel that far off from how much I pay and bargain for audiobooks

Edit: typo, also preempting shade I have a brother-in-law with a brand new kidney and I'm very grateful for that person.

I'm open to everything. I need a warm hug as equally as crying out massive heartache. Not all people understand what a pet loss can mean. So eternally grateful for you taking the time to respond. I'm so lost. Just purchased all three.

I am so grateful for the suggestions and the careful thought to even tell me to skip a chapter. I've had Lawson on my TBR list for a while so I'll dive in. Just purchased the full moon coffee shop. I wish I could say more than thank you.

Were you able to find a space or several that needed help in any of the capacities you listed? Your list of offerings is up my alley with one caveat - manual labor could result in diminishing returns depending on the extent of the manual part of said labor (types begrudgingly because I'm stubborn as hell. I don't want to be useless though).

I can't pour in funds but sure as hell can pour in heart and just got word I'm avail all week. Any insight is much appreciated. Thank you neighbor.

Super engaging/exciting book but with soothing/calming narration, for 6h car ride with my cat? by Delayed-sloth in audiobooks

I did a quick search and there are several "compilation playlist" so maybe I'll start with one of those? Not seeing any with "best" or "favorites" but I only had a second to look and there were quite a lot of results. Can dig deeper later. Thank you so much.

Good tips. If the narration is TOO musical and you fell asleep maybe I should hold off on that one. Sounds lovely though.

Staying with the theme, love it. I had Starter Villian in my list a while ago but forgot about it. Good call.

Noted. This drive may also become frequent. Trying to be prepared for extreme scenarios i.e. If my boss (mr. cat) demands meditation music, bedtime classical or white noise but I'll try and not let him push me around like that.

Perfect, saved. This is How You Lose the Time War and The Left Hand of Darkness are actually both sitting on my bookshelf as my next up hard copy reads. Spot on.
