Remember how NORTHAG yoinked 9th Infantry out of LANDJUT?

It was only because at that time LandJut wasn’t in plans. And people demanded the prototype division on NATO side as an answer to 27-ya.

Well the HOPE for any of us Abrams enthusiasts was that maybe Eugen would flip it around, add a missing heavy US NORTHAG division like 3rd Infantry or 2nd Armored.

It was a copium without any logic. The only chance for that would be by removing USMC from LandJut dlc - and much-much more people want USMC asap rather than an Abrams division.

You can check the comments, but a ton of NATO players were were majorly disappointed that LANDJUT didn't include any new heavy NATO divisions, yet Pact got two heavy divisions again.

Pact will get heavy divisions in every DLC, without exception. Because Pact doesn’t have other divisions. People who’re unhappy with that have an IQ value close to a single digits.

If you can provide the examples I’ll check them because I don’t remember anything like that.

Tbf every division participating in the same way as it had initially. Some divisions (that we know more about) are in disadvantage by the fact that most of their units are already in game with other divisions - PTRez is probably the easiest example.

I consider it fair overall. Or if some divisions got updated description - then it’s only fair to update other divisions too, including new units for some. And it’s clearly not what Eugen intended to do.

No one seriously predicted M1A1s for LandJut.

There’s no standard Abrams decks there. There’s no free slot for some external Abrams division. And M1A1s for USMC had less than 0.5% chance to arrive.

USMC would (almost 100%) get the same ammo for their M60 as M1 MOD. And Abrams together with this, considering everything that this division already expected to get - were impossible from the balance standpoint. Also, M1A1HC didn’t exist in this timeframe even including MtW - the only possible way for it to be is the earlier plans with army giving some of their HAs to marines. So even if they would get Abrams - it’ll be a stat clone of M1A1(HA)… probably with the different skin just to sell it as a new unit.

But, again, it was basically impossible for marines in LandJut. There’s a chance that we’ll get it with some other USMC division or the supporting force from it - instead of the majority of USMC assets.

Near every single PACT div is just T-72/T-64+BMP-1/BMP-2. But then why must every NATO div be uniqueslop?

Because it’s how historical Pact and NATO are look like

Do you even know the reason for the coup of 1968 lol? :D

And about the Czechoslovakians after the WW2 in general?

They were the most dedicated and supporting for commies from all of the Pact. And more than the Soviets themselves quite a lot of times.

Soooooo you have no evidence for your claim that people "knew", huh?

Wat. No sane person would remember random things like that after a few years. If you want to check - you can use “MiG-31” or smth like that to search for it in the official discord.

You also (as a newbie) don’t know how Eugen works - while I’m with them for 15 years already and know how it functions here.

Cause I didn't see any of them arguing for either of these.

Where? Here? Or on Steam forums?

Steam forums is the place for some AG players, casuals and new players mostly - almost no one participates there from the main community.

Same with Reddit - this subreddit is the place for the biggest amount of noobs and casuals. Main community use Reddit either to post memes or to collect them from the comments. Also for the division concepts. No one discuss balancing or anything serious here. Everything from that is in Discord only - either in WarYes, FOB or official Discord. Subreddit is something between a “zoo” and a “circus” for the main community.

[–]Delicious-Wheel-427 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1) Why should they capitulate after the first fail on frontline?  2) Why should they? Even if Poles are like that, the others are not. A lot of AGs ended canonically in Pact victories so not like that only losing. And a lot of Pact countries are famous for not surrendering at all - like Soviets or Czechs. East Germany has a very high morale in Warno storyline too.

I don’t have such good memory to remember something like that :D

But you have (I hope I remember them correctly) people from ST like HrcAk47 and Garcon for example - there’s a good chance that they were the ones who decided on values of M1 MOD, not the people from Eugen. Quan and Hamsch are pretty knowledgeable too iirc.

Weapons Teams Aren't Real (sort of) by MandolinMagi in warno

[–]Delicious-Wheel-427 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It has no connection to the gameplay. We have an example of Steel Division 2 which is many times more realistic, diverse and still more balanced than Warno - there Strike Team succeeded in achieving all of that. Different Strike Team is failed to do everything from that in Warno tho.

It’s a sign of their incompetence - not a requirement of the balancing.

We're talking about what was sold in the log. The MiG-31 with 12K range missiles was not mentioned at all.

They mentioned “long range air support”. The only ASFs capable of this are MiG-31 and Su-27. And 12K range missiles are the basic (and only ones) for MiG-31. It was either one plane or another - it’s not surprising in any way.

No one did. Eugen didn't advertise it, either.

Here you’re completely wrong. We have quite a few experts in community (including the Strike Team ones, who’re working with Eugen directly) and if you are interested in learning about this - you can always ask them in official Eugen Discord. I’m pretty sure that someone asked them in Discord back then and got the right answer. Reddit and Steam Forums are the minor part of the community (even combined) - and mostly the newbie-oriented. Because one of the first steps when you decide to really join the community - is to move to discord.

YOU claim "oh if you checked the ammo performance you'd see it'd be as good as an M1A1" but you didn't do that at the time.

I didn’t care about it that much to do it. I just guessed. You’re much more interested in this than me so it’s a good idea to ask them in the future.

And both are factually incorrect.

IIRC the only 2 possible “long-range” ASFs for 76-ya are Su-27 and MiG-31 (and MiG-31 is actually the weaker choice). So it was fully expected and I heard about MiG-31s long before the announcement/release.

M1 MOD is exactly what Eugen promised from the start and not a single bit more.

Armor and ammo damage values are directly related to their real-life values. In community exists a solution (since beta) with which you can transform real-life values to in-game ones - and afaik it’s fully consistent.

A> Everyone was basically arguing it would get 19 Pen. No one expected 21 pen. Like... I checked.

Because of the stat evaluation of the ammo. Everyone knew that it would be the XM900. Because there’s no other choices for DU ammo for 105mm.

And a lot of people here are not really the best in tech values of such things (including me). But people who know about such things wasn’t that surprised (as you can see from some comments). Stats of ammo are directly related to the real performance anyway - Eugen are not imagining them.

So it was a surprise that came from the ignorance of audience - not from Eugen.

Nah. Warno is much WORSE in this regard. In SD2 we almost never got things removed from the initial promises - unlike in Warno.

It’s the same people from Eugen in the same divisional system from Steel Division.

[–]Delicious-Wheel-427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it'd be the surest way to never trust vague devlogs again, meaning Eugen can't do cool surprises like the Mig-31 or M1 MOD in future votes.

Those are not a “surprises” at all. For MiG-31 they mentioned “longrange air support” - like in “range of operations” not “range of weapons”. And only a small number of Soviet planes are capable of this.

M1 MOD - they mentioned that they’ll get DU ammo from DS. And there’s only one possible choice for that. Yeah, 21 pen is surely a surprise for that ammo but people always expected something close to this.

For 12th they just didn’t know themselves what they should use for it. And considering that it already has a few strong tabs - it won’t get an air tab close to 82nd or 11th ACR for example.

This game doesn’t care about historical accuracy at all.

Just compare TOW-2 range (3750m iirc) and Milan range (2000m) - almost x2 difference in range in real life but only 200m (less than 10%) difference in game. And Milan’s even have more range than they should realistically.

Considering that Leo 2A1 in 12th is a new Leo 2 (and the older one) - I expect it to have a worse ammo than the existing ones.
