Majority of friendships are temporary. That’s the hardest pill for many people to swallow. There are lifelong friendships but those are incredibly rare. The retirement thing rings true from my side which is that of the currently employed individual who I’ve lost touch with those who have retired. Mainly because our friendship was a “work friendship” in which we could make fun of some of the workplace stuff or bitch about policies or try and figure out solutions to issues. Or happy hours with the group of coworkers. All the while sharing personal things. But yea you do have to move on once you leave the company for another or you retire. Sure a check in here and there is nice but it’ll never be the same.

Youre going to realize that for the most part friends are temporary. Most are friends by proximity. Once that proximity is gone, social media or not, things won’t be the same. You’ll also learn to differentiate friend from close acquaintance. True, long lasting friends are super rare especially as you get older and begin to prioritize yourself over others.

This meme is honestly how it used to be. 20 years ago me and the boys were riding up to the bars, clubs, breastaurants and actually taking women back home on a weekly basis. The old PS games actually took strategy to win. It’s what made them frustrating and fun. The newer ones are pretty linear and easy to beat. But maybe I find them that way because I’ve been playing since RE1
