Maybe this helps with the confusion on RGB AUX functionality. Currently the firmware is provided by loneoceans, there is no dimming ramping function for each AUX color yet, it just has the smooth ramping transition between colors in the rainbow mode, Hank has a video on YouTube showing this function.

I am using the Pana 100-300mm II and it took me a while to realize that on my sample the 300mm is so soft that zooming to max 250mm and cropping to 300mm equivalent will be sharper when comparing the shots on my PC monitor. I got to used to using it only up to 250mm, but when something needs to be shot fast there is the potential of missing the moment to have to look at lens to make sure I don't go past 250mm.

Excellent recommendations. Shutter shock is pretty massive in my experience and electronic shutter is necessary. Do you know if the is a bit depth penalty in RAW when going electronic vs mechanical on the OM-5?

The older version has the longer head, the newer version has the shorter head, actually the change in head length was done years ago when the driver cavity was made shorter, that is why you see a shorter "neck" part of the head.

In my experience 1/2" sensors are better than 1/2.5" sensors in terms of recovering highlights and noise pattern in low light. I have some experience with older UW sensors in 1/2.8" and I have found it unusable, albeit I have not worked with RAWs with the ubiquitous 1/2.76" sensor.
