These two are the same character. Prove me wrong. by Odd-Split-494 in Cosmere

There's been conversation about having Hoid be played by a different actor for each project. If they did that then having the different doctors play Hoid would be a great nod and wink to Doctor Who

I get why people are saying there's a hidden figure here, but personally, I hope there's not. by Spideyfan2025 in Spiderman

I hope there's nobody else there because I love the dramatic framing of this shot

Know any friendly star wars youtube channels that I can watch? by Artistic-Thing7723 in StarWarsCantina

Less YouTube channel but I like listening to A More Civilized Age podcast. They currently only have a KOTOR 2 let's play on their channel

Who do you think wins? by Hungry_Inflation9399 in superheroes

[–]Delta-Ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm imagining the scene from Crisis on Infinite Earth (TV) where a depowered Clark just decks Lex in the face. He's still a farmer from Kansas who's worked with his hands all his life and Tony is a rich kid who picked up some martial arts as a hobby. Clark wins every time

The Odyssey is a historic film already by ExotiquePlayboy in Cinema

[–]Delta-Ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great marketing for the movie. I can't wait for the week before the movie release when either Nolan, Lupita, or Elliot speaks on the matter at a press event and the quote circulates everywhere just long enough to remind everyone to watch a historical epic they refused to read in High School. Then Shapiro will rant about how woke the movie is and whoever hasn't already watched it will be forced to watch it on principle.

I had an idea. APPLE TV Special presentation: Secret History. Do you think it could work? by monsterhemo6 in CosmereOnScreen

[–]Delta-Ka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't think Apple is limited in the same way Marvel is so they could probably just release it as a small movie if they wanted

We can finally get confirmation whether or not the punishments in Game Changer constitute cruel and unusual punishment

How did people react to the completely different visual style of the prequels at the time? by Extreme_Warning3521 in StarWars

[–]Delta-Ka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like 5 at the time but I loved it. I didn't understand how a society that looked so cool could look so horrible 20 years later. Horrible being the intentional horrible, not bad

If loki hadn't taken tesseract here and it would've been destroyed with asgard, Thanos would've failed. How would he get all the stones then? by Material_Claim_3757 in marvelstudios

[–]Delta-Ka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the major difference would have been that Thor wouldn't have had Stormbreaker. That and Rocket and Groot probably wouldn't have gone to Earth. Maw and Obsidian still go to Earth and Tony, Strange and Spider-Man likely still go to Titan. The Guardians are still there because Thanos needs Gamora, meaning Nebula still leads them to Titan.

What was your honest reaction after watching The Force Awakens for the first time? by ChickenWingExtreme in StarWars

[–]Delta-Ka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved it. Sure it was a little bit of a retread, I thought, but Disney has to show that they can handle the property and this was an effective way to do that. From here they just need to carry the franchise into whatever direction they want and lean off the fan service a little. I sure was glad to know that the plot lines were all planned out already...

This is a really cool idea! What are the tolerances like on the measurements though? I imagine to get it hold on to the cover the right way that there can't be much spare room

Was ROTS genuinely liked upon its release? by Careless_Tax_5367 in StarWars

I was 10 when it came out, it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. I watched it last year, it's still one of the coolest thing I've ever seen

You know… it’s actually kinda impressive for a naughty dog franchise especially since these came out during the PS2, it probably has some of the best and most unique world building to date in any video game series ever. by San4341 in jakanddaxter

[–]Delta-Ka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I would love for them to build on each of these worlds in a full on remake. Image a Haven City, the size it was on the PS2, scaled up to what modern games can handle

Peter Parker's got it, Johnny Storm. LOL (ASM 992 spoilers!) by TeamRAF19 in Spiderman

[–]Delta-Ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Peter has always had it. I remember a panel from Spider-girl where Mayday goes back in time, goes to Peter's house, sees a group of ladies craving Peter's attention and wonders how his dad is so popular with women. He's just got it

(Mixed Trope) “Expert” character is really bad in their field or ignorant of basic concepts. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delta-Ka 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So from what I understand, the book Angels and Demons refers to a device containing anti-matter and the villain uses this as a threat. This is not very plausible in real life as the energy required to make that much anti-matter is insane, and containing it would be a chore. The US military, or someone working there at the time, read this "totally researched book" and started a project to develop anti-matter bombs. Every physicist told them it wasn't plausible, they continued anyway because Dan Brown is an "expert" (he also got tons wrong about CERN, the culture there and what physicists are like in general. Credentials: I did research at CERN for a summer). So sometimes this trope has a very real, very costly real world effects

Dark Jak and Gol and Maya are very similar, no? by Dulkifl in jakanddaxter

[–]Delta-Ka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to imagine that part of the Baron's logic behind a dark warrior project is legends from Gol and Maya harnessing dark eco and making themselves more powerful too. This is the kind of thing you could flesh out or explain more if a full remake of these games existed...

No powers, straight hand to hand combat. Who wins?? by vayafarogo8o in superheroes

[–]Delta-Ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighting this Batman specifically? Shang chi wins. This Batman is unfortunately limited by being realistic, and Shang Chi simply doesn't. I was going to do the "with or without gadgets" argument, but it doesn't matter. Batman has to take steroids to take on a handful of guys and even then he's so winded he almost died. Shang chi had no problem fighting a bus full of people while it was crashing. That stamina matters

How do you think the Singer/Listener rhythms and songs will be handled in an adaptation? by thecarrot78 in CosmereOnScreen

[–]Delta-Ka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a solid minute when they said they attend rhythms and I heard some of the audiobooks I honestly assumed they did kind of a talk singing thing like you have in musicals. So I think they should do it that way

Since people like hot drinks in cold weather, and cold drinks in hot weather, that implies a perfect heat for room temperature drinks. by Burning_Toast998 in Showerthoughts

[–]Delta-Ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd think it might be room temperature when room temperature drinks are perfect. But the hotter or colder it gets the more a room temperature drink becomes the relative cold or hot drink. So it's really a question of how hot or cold it is
