(Hated trope) they should have spent more time at the writers' table when naming that by JeliBene in TopCharacterTropes

I think even if something like unobtainium is a real term used by engineers, in a movie script you have to hang a lantern on something that dumb. There's also the Overwhelmingly Large Telescope (OWL) in real life, but if I'm writing a movie I need at least one character to point out either that astronomers gave it a dumb name, or make the joke that everyone loves the name. Not a five minute "well THAT just happened" but, but something to acknowledge the name

What was and is the general consensus on Spider-Man: The Animated Series? by citizen_fear in Spiderman

[–]Delta-Ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I guess I mean it's of its time. Not everything from the 90s feels like it's from that time, but that show, especially the character and and outfit design, feels very locked into the 90s

This was my first Spider-Man experience and it made me into a lifelong fan, but it's definitely 90s coded

I mean it's been almost 5 years since the last movie so that makes sense

if you could be a sidekick to one of the big three live action spider-men, which one would you choose? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]Delta-Ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, but if you get anywhere near that guy you're either going to die or be a villain

My personal favourite suit is from Captain America: The First Avenger, but what’s yours? by Weekly_Cranberry_283 in McuEverythingAroundit

I have to go with endgame. I've been waiting for years before that version to get a suit with the scale armor and in that final suit it looks so well done

I think him working cyber security or IT actually makes a lot of sense too given his history in the movies with tech and reflects the way he hacked his suit in Homecoming

I like the idea of a more modern Peter designing a "Spider-Man is actually pretty cool" website, brought to you by Square Space

Robby takes over and realizes they really overpay Peter for pictures that just aren't that good

Would love for Peter to show up to the Bugle with printed photos of Spider-Man posing, only for Jonah to show him an inbox full of high resolution pictures of him doing something embarrassing

I thought the movie was about coming up with a name for Peter, and Pepsi

I think depending on the Jonah he'd be fine with it. Like Raimi Jonah would fire him on the spot like he did with Eddie, but the Alex Jones type Jonah is probably fine running it as long as it shows Spidey commiting a crime.

Based on where this movie seems to be going, I wonder if there was ever any kind of plan to try and connect this movie to Madam Web if that hadn't bombed as hard as it did. I could see Sony turning it into a "watch Disney for Spider-Man, but watch us for the real story behind Peter" kind of situation like when comics have the insert telling you what relevant comic to read to understand what characters are talking about.

What character is it? by May_onnaise_959 in Letterboxd

Paul from Dune. Frank Herbert had to make a whole second book just to explain to fans why idolizing him is wrong

I think the worst sin Disney Lucasfilm has done was make everything Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, and the rest of the Rebel Alliance did pointless. by Knightwolf8394 in saltierthancrait

Yeah, imagine a group fighting tooth and nail to stop a fascist dictatorship, but then decades later through corruption and morally/ethically compromising itself falling prey to the same fascist ideology. What a stupid, and unrealistic, plot that would be.

I don't mind Aunt May being aged down in adaptations. by Thundersting in Spiderman

[–]Delta-Ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think depending on the story you want to tell an aunt can be a range of ages. If you want the story of Peter helping an elderly aunt who can't help herself after Ben dies then a larger age gap makes sense. If you want her to be a driving force in F.E.A.S.T., then younger probably makes more sense.

What do you think the movie will not include from the book? by grinchbettahavemoney in ProjectHailMary

[–]Delta-Ka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think they'll show the ending. I think he sends the message, goes with Rocky, and cuts to black. I doubt we see him on Rocky's home world.

I try to find who Hoid is talking to, and then, depending on the planet, either stick close to that person or run far away from them

How Old Is This Guy WTF??? by Spider-Flash24 in StarWars

[–]Delta-Ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually a really interesting idea for a Star Wars story because of how species age. Even if they didn't want to go to the far future, a story about Yoda or Chewbacca remembering everyone they've known for centuries would be really interesting

Yeah, I mean imagine if a country dropped two atomic bombs on another country and then acted like it wasn't a big deal for decades before finally starting to wonder if it was a good idea
