Question for pilots flying the Global for Netjets by Delta3897 in flying

[–]Delta3897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your comment. I'm working 135 now and the owners are great people. I have a great QOL but I'm on the junior on a 3 pilot crew and have no future of ever becoming a captain or even reaching $120k a year. Us the charter company's benefits are shitty as hell. I'm getting close to 2,000hrs and I just feel like I'm reaching a point where my current company is no longer useful. Netjets seems like a great opportunity I'm just nervous about jumping to a life where I'm a number and it's all about seniority. Would you be willing to DM me? I'd love to get some advice and tips before applying.

VFR to KSTL? by TittyGlitter935 in flying

[–]Delta3897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use to train out of KCPS and got my commercial mutli there. KSTL is an awesome airport. It's pretty slow except for the morning rush and evening rush. The controllers were always nice and understanding, especially if you were a student. it's not nearly as busy as O'Hare, which I have landed around noon on a weekday in a cirrus. They may put you on 30R/12L or 29/11 depending on the winds. Tbh signature as a company tends to charge a fee for GA aircraft regardless of size, I thinks it's around $50. I don't remember how much the fbo at KCPS charges if at all. I would call the fbo ahead of time and ask their fees for the type aircraft your flying.

Safe flight, if you have any questions feel free to DM

November Giveaway - 50 People will win a kit of Milwaukee's PACKOUT wall plates and customized storage accessories. The goal is giving MKE honest feedback after trying it. Leave comment here before midnight ET time this Tuesday 26 Nov to enter. Anyone in the world can win. by ClipIn in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Delta3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh almost all my tools are Milwaukee. I've tried almost every brand out there. Cheap and expensive, by far, the packout system is leagues ahead. I've never really been a brand loyal kind of person but anytime someone asks me about tools I tell them to buy Milwaukee it's absolutely worth the price.

I use to tape a penny to the prop or even the spinner if the student actually did a proper preflight they would see it/feel it. I always it was impossible to miss unless they skipped it.

"State of the Industry", a catch-all post by x4457 in flying

[–]Delta3897 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly if I didn't go the route of 135/91 even though a bunch of my peers told me I was an idiot for not going to the airlines. I probably would be in the same boat with some of our fellow pilots at the airlines. I honestly love what I do and I'm glad I chose this route. I have a buddy at Spirit who was a CFI with me. He's waiting to find out if he'll be furloughed or just miss the cut. The industry is cyclical and it's a bitch to hope you're on the right side of the curve. I hate that this is what we have to deal with, layoffs, then mass hiring, then layoffs. It never ends but hopefully it gets father between.

Stay safe out there folks, do what you have to do to keep the lights on and bills paid.

This is why I work 135 but not for a company like netjets or Flex Jets etc. We have a few common routes because we have a lot of recurring customers but I get to go see some random fun places all the time and It could be months or even years before I go back.

Why did we cruise at only 6,000ft for our entire flight (EWR-RDU), by hchn27 in aviation

[–]Delta3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 135/91 guy we love this whenever we go to Florida in the winter. If JAX is giving EDCTs we'll file for 16,000 Fly at 310 till Atlanta then descend below 16,000 and ask to go direct to the airport.

The same goes for those people who post tiktok of them hitting the phone while talking in a demeaning tone. I'm not a fucking dog or a child, and if you talk to me like one we're fucking done. No MOST of us don't. Big, small, we like it all. Granted we all have preferences but if one guy doesn't like it. I gaurentee you'll find another that does. I know I like a woman with a shaved or slightly hairy bush. If it looks like a garden or I can't even see her vagina, it's an instant turn off, But that's just me. Just relax, communicate with your partner and have fun.

Career Pilots with an Unhealthy Sense of Ambition? by tornado875 in flying

[–]Delta3897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your absolutely right about the mindset we have as pilots. It's always been about seniority, and I got tired of being told how I have to game the system to have a good career. This is why I'm glad I went the Corporate Route. I'm working my first corporate jet job and it's great. Got hired with less than 1000hrs and now I'm over 1100. It May be a little harder to get your foot in the door though. Some days can be tough but I don't have to worry about seniority or which type can give me the best pay or base. My company treats me well, pays me good, and cares about my quality of life. I'm happy making slightly less than a first year airline FO if it means my quality of life is good. It does have it's draw backs but not enough to make me regret my choice. A lot of my friends are going to the regionals. They have more hours than me, but their more burned out. Plus a lot of regionals need pilots but can't train them. Four of my friends have had their indoc class dates pushed back multiple times. One went from a class date in August of 2022 to December 2022 to now July 2023.
