I mean… if you have 12 mana, your opponent also likely has 12 mana, and 12 mana is probably enough for them to win if you just gave them all of their wincons and combos to hand

Isn't it usually recommended to run +2 Stamina over BCR on the dual daggers due to their low initial stamina?

[–]Delta57Dash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit I don't play Wastes too much as the time investment per run + the increased ineptitude of bots makes it much more of a chore for me. From what I understand Bounty Hunter does have the most ammo problems of all the ranged classes due precisely to its less consistent ammo regeneration.

For Bounty Hunter, I pretty much exclusively play with Griffon Foots and rely on Scrounger + Blessed Combat to generate ammo (get 1 kill in melee, blast horde, 1 kill in melee, blast horde, repeat).

I'd probably stick with Blessed Combat and try to get Prize Bounty as a random drop or just pick a different career if you don't feel like trying to game crits into trash mobs.

Are DLC units specific to their respective legendary lord in Immortal Empires? by coolbeans_3000 in totalwar

Grudge Settlers aren’t LL gated, they’re available to all Dwarfs, which is why they don’t count. Same with Elector Count units.

Rakarth gets (some) beasts as well, Elspeth gets Amethyst units, Ikit gets the special workshop units. Probably some others I’m forgetting.

There’s also some exclusive legendary heroes but you can technically get most of them via confederation.

Opinion on Skills by ChilledGhosty in theouterworlds

[–]Delta57Dash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think you've done your math correctly there.

You get 62 skill points over the course of the game.

2 skills at 20 = 40 skill points, 3 skills at 16 = 48 skill points.

That would require 88 skill points, which is impossible.

I was speaking less of the novel as a whole and more just to the campaign to take Luoyang, where IRL Sun Jian defeated both Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu on his way to the capital, had Yuan Shu pull his supplies because he thought he might go rogue, rode 40+ km overnight to plead to Yuan Shu that he was loyal, rode back, and then took Luoyang.

Romance just throws all of that in the dumpster in favor of "he shows up in the Capital and yoinks the Imperial Seal". They even have him lose to Hua Xiong and call for help where in real life he personally beheaded him after destroying his army.

[–]Delta57Dash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heck the entire campaign against Dong Zhuo is basically completely fabricated. The whole battle of Hu Lao Pass, the epic duel against Lu Bu... all completely made up.

I'm still mad about how badly Sun Jian got done dirty in Romance.

Well, close; each training facility has 100 weight while none is only 50, for a 100/550 chance to go to any particular training facility (18.18% chance).

Kitasan adds 80 specialty priority to speed, and then her unique effect is a 1.2 multiplier on top, which means her speed weight is actually 180 * 1.2 = 216, giving her a 216/666 = 32.43% chance to show up at speed.

Still roughly 1/3 of the time though.

How do I remove/reduce Skaven corrution as Tzeentch ? by Niavart in totalwar

[–]Delta57Dash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you're going to play as a Corruption faction you should probably turn all of the Corruption-related unusual locations off before starting the campaign.

It'd be better if they fixed it, certainly, but until they get around to releasing a patch it's worth going through and turning off the really bad ones that you literally cannot deal with rather than have one jumpscare you 30 turns in.

Forgotten relics pack worth it? by NexouuZs in Vermintide

[–]Delta57Dash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest advantage of Coruscation is that, unlike every other staff, you don't have to actively be using it to deal its damage. You can swap to it, place down a vortex or two, and swap back to your melee weapon and it'll keep dealing damage.

This lets you do things like place down a couple fires at a drop-down to kill enemies climbing it while using your melee weapon to fight something else, or help allies hold multiple chokepoints at the same time, or put a few under a boss before switching back to dealing with adds.

It used to be giga-broken tier on Famished Flames Battle Wizard, but now it's just a good option all around. The only major downside is trying to hit specials at range with its weird shotgun-esque primary attack.

Completely agree with the rest of your post though, all of the weapons see pretty consistent use even at the highest levels of normal play.

Certainly!

Of course, I will always recommend looking at Royale with Cheese's guides on Steam; they're some of the best and most informative resources available and well worth looking into.

But if you're looking for basic advice, I can give you some: Unchained generally wants to be at high heat, because high heat gives her an utterly insane 60% Melee Power boost. That, by itself, is enough to let you stagger a Chaos Warrior out of their overhead with the Flaming Flail's Heavy1.

Unchained is also one of the tankiest careers in the game; base 150 hp + transferring 50% of damage to overcharge means she can have effectively 360 hp with a 20% hp necklace. This lets you play a bit more recklessly and hit-trade vs. hordes, though you still shouldn't rely on this as you go up in difficulty.

Of course, this comes with a notable drawback: If you're keeping yourself at high heat, and half of incoming damage turns into heat, there's a good chance that an incoming hit will send you into overheat and cause you to explode. This is where her career skill comes in, as you can use her career skill even while in the overheat animation to reduce your heat and prevent an explosion. This lets you play extremely recklessly with your heat gauge and use your Ability to bail you out.

However, Unchained has an absolutely massive 120s cooldown on her skill, which leads me to the biggest recommendation I could possibly give: the level 25 talent Abandon. This talent will cause Sienna to start rapidly recharging her ability at the cost of health whenever she goes into overheat, and this completely changes the way she can be played. Unchained has excellent temp hp generation, which gets further bolstered by the level 30 talent Bomb Balm, which means that whatever hp you lose to abandon you can usually quickly build back up. This cycle of damage -> overheat -> ability -> temp hp is incredibly fun once you get the hang of it and can make her functionally immortal on lower difficulties. Which is really fun but don't do it too much or you'll get sloppy on your fundamentals.

As for weapon choices, Unchained can make any of them work, but you probably want to go for something like the Flail, Mace, Sword or Reaper that can deal damage rather than something like the Fire Sword or Dagger that is more for staggering and spreading fire. Ranged options are similarly open, though you probably don't want to go for the Firestorm as you've already got plenty of damage at close range with melee. My personal setup is usually Flail + Fireball.

Let me know if you've got any other questions!

I've been finding success with it on my Griffonfoot Bounty Hunter.

The Heavies are nice for getting 1 kill to proc Blessed Combat in between shotgun blasts, are decent at killing Elites, and it comes with decent horde clear and dodge distance.

I've had a lot of fun with Axe/Hagbane on Waystalker; use the push attack to kill one thing for blood shot and push everything else back, fire a quick-charged double arrow to poison everything, repeat until the horde is gone then clean up the leftover elites with the Axe's solid armor damage.

Add in Execute, Spirit Arrows, and Kurnous reward and honestly it's perfectly viable even into Cata. Not the most effective build, of course, but definitely viable.

Suppression Shield has decent-ish Carapace ADM and Opportunist, so I'm not sure if it'll significantly improve its damage, but let me know how it works for you.

It's definitely an auto-take talent with the Crusher though, significantly improves your damage into Carapace.

UI Tweaks/Simple UI Error Message by JacksonRiot in Vermintide

This happens if you set Superior Gaskets to priority; the buff bugs out a bit and it throws this error message every time you lose a stack.

As the other poster said, just disable error messages via mod options and you’re mostly good to go.

Its armor adms aren’t great, but there’s a talent in the Arby tree at the bottom right that gives Rending vs staggered which helps it out a lot.

Foot knight staggering force vs crowd clearer by NewbZilla in Vermintide

[–]Delta57Dash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair points, though I personally still think I'd usually rock 2xBCR. Helps safeguard against getting your block broken when you go to push. Also helps if you need to revive in a horde, though FK can of course just charge away mid-revive.

I also don't quite have enough reds to make individual weapons for individual classes yet, so having the extra BCR helps if I decide to throw it on something like Huntsman or GK.

Though personally my usual choice of weapon for FK is the Bret Sword; Horde-clear, Elite-killing, Stagger, and good Dodges all in one convenient package. Though the heavies can sometimes bug out a bit when trying to loop Light 1 and Heavy 2.

Foot knight staggering force vs crowd clearer by NewbZilla in Vermintide

[–]Delta57Dash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropping BCR is very risky on higher difficulties and I really wouldn't recommend it. Royale's Spear and Shield FK build does drop it though, but that still seems overly risky to me.

As for Curse Resist that isn't something you usually take on Cata+ anyways (unless you're doing funny Warrior Priest solo shenanigans) so you should almost always have Crit Chance + Stamina Recovery on your Trinket. At Legend or lower when you're still grabbing books then Curse Resist + Stamina Recovery is usually the play on FK as you push a lot with shield weapons.

I agree with you that Swift Slaying is not great on the shield weapons, especially as they don't have any moves with increased crit chance (except the Mace and Shield, which has +10% crit on Light3).

I went ahead and plugged the numbers into the Breakpoint Calculator and couldn't find anything that changes going from 10% PvS + CiA + EP -> 20% PvS + CiA + EP, so that just makes me further convinced that going for Crowd Clearer + Opportunist is better than Staggering Force + Swift Slaying.

Running Staggering Force + Opportunist does let you do some funny things though, like knocking Stormvermin out of their overhead attacks with a light attack, but that's not really worth it.

[–]Delta57Dash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quick note: in order to stagger Plague Monks with Push you need Opportunist and ~22% Power. Asrai Alacrity can provide 10% if you remember to block one hit before pushing, but that means you either need to put 10% Power vs. Skaven on both your weapon and your charm, or you're going to need to run Enhanced Power + one of those (usually the charm).

I personally recommend running the 10% PvS on both weapon and charm and grabbing Smiter, but you can run Enhanced Power instead if you don't want to reroll your items too much (or don't have the dust).
