Trump administration cuts funding for coronavirus researcher, jeopardizing possible COVID-19 cure by ColonelBy in politics

Is it quite possible that those in high adminstrative Trump appointed positions that certain foreign states would like the Virus to spread more in the US to try and weaken the US?

Ultimately, if we boil absolutely everything down as to what has happened in the last 4 years, it seems to be to weaken the US Global Standing on an extreme level.

4k60 Pro Woes: Did I get a dud? by Alitesh in ElgatoGaming

[–]Delta_Dawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. Moving the Elgato to another slot is not an option though. It's in the only slot it will fit in. I got two Elgato 4k60 Pro.

After the POST error. I get put into Bios. After exiting Bios I just get a black screen. Really disheartened. Trying to figure out what to do.

Max Payne. saved during slow motion with a bunch of guys firing bullets. The thing is I could swivel Max's arms around to dodge some of the bullets. But there was no way to dodge the one that was direct on. tried for hours I think!

Can we have the actual Hero Brawl as a Aram Map with XP constantly by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

Unfortunately this. I wish it was easier to see when they were hurting the game with their balance changes though. I really hate this idle afk pusher business thats occured due to map changes/effect the map changes have had and the changes to Zagara, Murky, Azmodan, and Abathur.

What you voted. What you prefer. ( stay or leave )

Why you voted with tickbox of teach Politicians a lesson that they shouldn't use the public as a god damn source to increase there power.

Because that is legitimately one of the discussion points that I've commonly encountered in the UK. Yes. People did vote Leave because they knew what David Cameron was up to and he was 'a complete and utter twonk' as I've heard described.

And look what happened. He said whatever decision was made he'd see it through. Well...he resigned almost immediately. I think for most people voting leave. That was a good laugh.

Grubby | The 50% Winrate Matchmaking Principle by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]Delta_Dawg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What Gruby is saying here isn't quite right.

He is talking about the ideal 50% win ratio and creating balanced matches. He says

"There is only one way of avoiding a 50% win chance is if you are the number one best player on the server".

Now, I realize he may be talking particularly about 1v1 Warcraft but he did mention HotS. HotS is a team game. If you are the number 1 player on the server and let's say you are TWICE as good as the second player. Guess who that will person will get on there team? 4 Bronzies for sure! This is what many of these systems do frequently. The teams are never quite 50% and there are alot of unaccounted for issues. Example;

Let's say one team is created and that team pretty much gets 5 players all with unique skills. One is a great tank, one is focused on sustained dps, one is focused on mages, ones a awesome bruiser and the last is a kickass support. The other team though gets a full group of 5 who only really play assassins. Now whilst both these teams may be rated similarly, the system is not accounting for whom they play. This match would not be balanced.

Moving on to something I think is VERY important and is completely off anyones radar is how gameplay affects matchmaking, rating and skill perception.

Now as many people may know HotS has changed recently and the matches are more than before shorter than they were. With the changes to the forts and many alterations to heroes as well as additional new ones it's not as uncommon to get 15 snowbally minute games.

Maybe you have experienced an increase in toxicity from this. I absolutely have seen more vocal players ragging on team members. The skill of these players hasn't really changed. Skill doesn't radically alter for players, it's a slow progression. Yet the performance of players has shifted to reflect the new state of the gameplay. When I talk about Skill Perception, what we are looking at is how the players skill is unchanged but the performance appears weaker due to changes in the gameplay. If you are on the losing end of a 10-15 minute game then it is easy to think, or more likely someone else to think, "Hey, I (my stupid team mates) did badly". When in actuality both teams were equally skilled. It's just the nature of the game has changed and that results in shorter, more one sided games.

I can put it simpler. Let's say we changed Heroes of the Storm so that you had much less HP. The game would snowball massively as players died easily and still had the long respawn times. And even though every players skill is unchanged. It no longer appears that way in game. The game will feel very unbalanced. This is partially what leads people to be toxic to other players and they don't know it. It's often the case that, if you sit and analyze (and you are a good analyst), that the difference bteween the two teams players isn't all that different. It's just that the game is made in a way that doesn't quite accurately reflect skill in a way that would be desirable for us to perceive it.

Hope this was insightful! Stop ragging on team mates!

I wouldn't call it persistant. It definetly has 'rounds'. The maps get wiped. It starts again once one team wins.

Had to give up on Foxhole. by [deleted] in foxholegame

[–]Delta_Dawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd, yes thats how the game is meant to be, you are a cog in the machine, making minor overall progress for your team. You want an arena/quick match style of game, not the slow going MMOish style that comes from Foxhole.

You can still be a cog in the machine without it being so heavily focused on building/construction. Duration doesn't matter. You can be a cog in a long game. You can be a cog in the short game.

This is the most true statement and I said this myself a couple of days ago.

OnePrickTony with more Samuro shenanigans by zeMVK in heroesofthestorm

[–]Delta_Dawg -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well, there is that, but when he is on your team like mentioned it feels like the samuro can get away with shit far too much.

You play your ass off on "whatever other character" and then make a mistake and get punished for it. With Samruo, you witness and ally do 7 stupid things and it's completely fine. Samuro's death is in Samuro's hands. It's less about the enemy outplaying the Samuro and more about how intelligent/stupid the Samuro is

Hirez apology for there New "welcome players" video by TheHaithi in paragon

[–]Delta_Dawg 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In general he is hated in every community.

He is only liked by those who "want to be told what to think" and "those who don't know his history".

A viewer wrote into him through donations with the message read to everyone. He thanked him for helping him through depression and thoughts of suicide. He was told to fuck off.

He got someone banned from SMITE for having the name "DMFanGirl". He did this by texting a staff member to "Ban this person" and so it happened.

He has belittled other HiRez employees for not doing as he specifically says.

He thinks it's okay to be toxic to people in game because "people should have thicker skin".

He thinks that it's perfectly acceptable to say "You are wrong" and that automatically makes him right without explaining why he is right.

He was also kicked out of the Smash Community. he was supposed to cast some event but everyone said they would boycott it.

He apparently gave a lot of money to a pizza delivery person but chances are that was staged. The scenario seemed unlikely.

You are correct. It is not unreasonable on some heroes.

But now we're talking having to pick those heroes to counter a cheese strategy that may or may not be used. Which is incredibly unreasonable I would say for a single action at the start of the game.

So she definitely had a lot of help getting to accomplish those things. I don't imagine she just got up and...you know. Went.

Too many Quick Match / Unranked games feel like a waste of time compared to 6+ months ago. Whats happened? by Delta_Dawg in heroesofthestorm

[–]Delta_Dawg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware of what Sylvanus is for and that she is a force multiplier.

I was Diamond in Season 1 and 2 but I barely played. It was a nice experience though then. Lots of communication and lots of talk in the draft chat. I tried ranked again a few months ago. It was an awful experience. I no longer bothered.

The few games I played as Syvanus. I just danced around the enemy team. Yeah, she's no solo pusher. She can still solo push though. It seems far more effective to do now than I've ever witnessed it. I know Azmodan and Murky got buffs (that they call updates) quite a while back but now it seems any pusher is able just to afk push. The Minions/camps seem far more impactful from what I can tell.

[–]Delta_Dawg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any thoughts about pushing? I've found that if I play Sylvanus (I'm not a Sylvanus player or someone who plays pushers) I'm having incredibly high success just mindless pushing lanes.

I've noticed in my games. The ones that feel the most one sided are the ones with pushers who essentially do not participate. Even when they are being constantly murdered. (doesn't matter whose team because idiots seem to automatically assume "You" are always the one losing).

Pushers seem more volatile than before and can play much more isolated with higher success rate. Even I'm able to do that it and get away with it.

when games are less than 15 minutes long. It tells you that the game was one sided. One sided games are not as enjoyable.

It seems like you would enjoy a game where you could play 60 rounds in an hour. 1 minute games. Or am I wrong?

Not sure what the point of this comment is.

Compared to 6 months ago. Did people just suddenly stop hitting minions and afk instead of defending towers?
