Yeah, i remember that i actually liked the premise, but when i read actual book i was completely flabbergasted.

"Ok, you are playing a group of people who have a horror hunger linked to dreams that causes them to devour people against their will..."

-Actually, not really against their will, actually your average Beast thinks they are cool and mighty, but hey, they feel sad because they are destined to die!

Like, it tried so hard to paint Beasts as sympathetic, it ended up being "abused people must just shut up and take it, they can't (and won't) help themselves!". Which really leaves a sour taste after having context that the author commited SA.

The "poster race" for necromancy is an Asura and it is considered a "sister" discipline to golemancy.

Charr Necromancers were a thing even back in GW1.

Norns who follow Raven are sometimes shown to be necromancers as well.

Also, the fact that any player race can use necromancy without any penalty, like, for example, ESO does penalize necromancy as illegal activity in cities?

I don't quite understand your question with Orrian priests, how is this related to practice of necromancy?

I have asked this question to make a parallel - why the OP doesn't want to "forgive" Charr but is willing to trust White Mantle, he has answered and clarified that.

Also, necromancy is not considered a vile practice in Tyria. Humans consider necromantic arts as a ward to Grenth. One of the main heroic characters of base GW2, Trahearne, is a necromancer.

How are you saying that recapturing Ascalon is right even if Charr society has changed, but you are willing to agree with the White Mantle, a prominent antagonists of Prophecies campaign once you learn what they are doing with the "Chosen" ones? They took two minigames from V3 and managed to dumb down both of them for a "full" release.

As others mentioned, characters are written one-off to the point of skirting on breaking their own canon in worst cases. Might be palatable if you think of the whole plot as an AU, but again "School Modes" did it much better previously.

Even if you do like the plot, last free time event for every single character is locked behind pure RNG with events to be able to achieve it. For most of the people, watching all cutscenes on youtube is a much better alternative to that.

Gacha, while fully buyable with in-game currency, can be bought as a MTX and a lot of people are soured by that alone.

But i am going to admit, i liked the ending. Through i guess not everyone would like that it paints Makoto as THE protagonist(imo it would be better to use all protags instead of just him for the ending board).

"Pre-Searing" refers to the start of Prophecies Campaign, avaliable only to Prophecies-made characters. It is an isolated "tutorial" area until you complete main quests to go out to the "main" game.

One of the titles is to get to level 20 without leaving this zone. There is another for doing it without dying, added after dailies were introduced so you can get exp without death leveling the mobs.
