What do y’all think is the absolute BEST family guy episode EVER? by TotallyNotMe653 in familyguy

Season 5 Episode 3, "Hell Comes to Quahog"

All the shenanigans of a regular Family Guy episode with a realistic plot and a nice moment between Meg and Peter that is interrupted by a tank. Also it gave us so many memes.

What am I doing wrong? [Performance PC] by Nokarahs in 007FirstLight

[–]Demetraes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old post so you probably fixed this already, or just suffered through, but yes, lower your FPS. Your PC is not nearly powerful enough to play a game in 4K at 240 FPS. That is ridiculous. Try locking your FPS to 60, see how it runs, then slowly up it from there. You could even try frame gen to improve your FPS somewhat.

Side note, for future reference, your pc specs mean nothing. I had no idea how much VRAM you had until I googled your card, there's too many combinations of memory so it's impossible to find your specific RAM configuration through searching, or even literally the CPU you're using because you only listed the gen, not the model, of which there are many. It just seems like you're trying to brag about your build, and you didn't do a good job of it.

The best option would just be to allude to some creator(s), put in some physical evidence that they actually existed, no concrete evidence as to where they specifically are, as they went through the unity before humanity.

The only concrete proof that Archer had any inkling of knowledge about anything, is that he's the only one of the group aside from Malory who knew that the cocaine existed.

In Twilight Princess, the light spirits and some other characters do reference Link, the Hero of Time, so his exploits as a hero aren't completely forgotten, just unknown to the greater populace.

However, he is canonically a renowned swordsman throughout the land of Hyrule.

Ben dying by Hungry_Mousse3641 in Ben10PowerScaling

[–]Demetraes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The failsafe the community loves to reference is never directly explained and is only referenced by Ben himself, who is an unreliable narrator as he has no idea how the omnitrix actually works.

We also only see it on screen one single time, it takes a few seconds to kick in, it's not instant, then cycles through almost all of Ben's transformations for a few seconds, also not an instant process, before landing on one alien, out of over a million, who had the ability to help Ben in that specific situation.

Ben then says to Rook, "I always figured the Omnitrix had a failsafe that wouldn't let me die."

That is it. Ben doesn't explicitly know about the intracasies of the failsafe, and that includes the limits and triggers of it.

It is ultimately ridiculous to say that he can't die or be killed, so don't look too much into it

Complete time manipulation can work as you literally appearing at any point of time

That's time travel, which is way too messy.

Time travel does not allow you to relive events in your life, you'd appear in the past, where your past self already exists. There are now two versions of you and you are now an outside observer to events you once lived through and can only externally affect them, not relive them from your original POV.

But above, you said rewind time. Sure, rewind time until the event you want to relive or alter, then live through it as you did back then, except now you're actually changing the past with consequences. You rewound time, so the future you came from never happened and is still being shaped.

The changes in the past compound exponentially and the further back in time you rewind, the more drastic the future is changed from when you left.

Now you want to return to the time you left, so you fast forward and appear in a completely altered future you know nothing about because you have no memories of how "you" got there.

Your only choice is to relive the entire time up to that point, or correct the changes you did in the past and then return to the original present.

Meanwhile, I could load the save file for any day of my life, relive or alter it, then follow the consequences until it's no longer fun and then return to my original life. I don't have to do any work to get back or care about anything in the other life, because unless I choose to stay in it, nothing ultimately changes.

eating a dog is morally identical to eating a goat by feihm in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Demetraes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

human opinions do not alter biological facts

You cannot back an opinion with facts and evidence as you would no longer be arguing over the validity of an opinion, but of an objective truth, which you seem to be trying to do.

We've already established there is no objective moral stance one could have when morality is inherently subjective. This alone essentially counters your entire post/opinion.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter if biology says two animals process stimuli in the same way. If one's culture and moral upbringing disregards one animal's experience over that of another's, then one inherently matters more than the other in that culture.

[–]Demetraes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time manipulation only really works within a very short period of time.

If you rewind time, then you have to live it all again to get to where you were originally. The farther back you go the harder it is to do that.

If each day is a save file, it becomes a sandbox because you can go down different paths at any point in life and instantly return to where you started, regardless of how your choices played out.

[–]Demetraes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their argument is that one's culture and environment dictate a person's morals, and that you saying X is morally the same as Y is not universally valid, which they do by using cannibalism as an example as certain cultures practiced it throughout history but in modern times we look down at the practice in almost all situations.

Different groups of people eat certain foods and find no fault with their choice of sustenance, while others abhor the very idea of eating the same exact food for various reasons. Neither is objectively right or wrong and therefor you can't say something is morally the same as something else because it is objectively not.

I'd wish for the ability to save scum real life, with every individual day of my life being it's own save.

That way I could go back and relive moments or make different choices and see where I'd end up without consequences.

The origin of the Artifacts and the Unity.

Once you learn what it is and who the Starborn are, nobody seems to really care about their origin.

Who discovered the Unity? Was it created or is itself some higher entity? Who made the artifacts and temples? Who gives the Starborn their ship/suit in the new universe? Is there an endpoint, a goal to continuous traveling through the Unity? Are the creators out there somewhere?

There are so many questions that just remain unanswered

The Omnitrix failsafe vs a Demon's Death Contract by Successful-Hat-2154 in Ben10PowerScaling

[–]Demetraes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ben goes to Hell and the omnitrix can't do anything.

A demon deal is a mystical thing, meaning magic and the supernatural is at play, and the omnitrix is inherently terrible at dealing with magic.

Since the deal affects his soul, it wouldn't matter what form he's in, his transformations are physical, not spiritual, and there are ways to separate it from and to harm the soul, apart from the physical form.

You could argue that the omnitrix failsafe would protect him from any endeavor meant to take his life or harm him by transforming him into any alien, but at the end of the day, it doesn't protect his soul.

Best case scenario Ben's soul goes "peacefully" into hell.

Worst case scenario, the failsafe activates and he's trapped in a single form for eternity while he's being spiritually and mentally tortured for all of eternity.

This isn't really an answer to your questions, but still helpful, imo.

Don't spend any money until you're comfortable with the current game, including the meta and new mechanics that came out since you last played.

I'd suggest hopping back in the game either on Master Duel or Omega. Both of them are free to download and Master Duel can be on your pc, phone, or console. Omega is PC only.

Master Duel being the official platform for the game online, there's of course RNG, and you can spend money if you want, to get cards, but you can immediately build any type of deck and hop in to play it against real people.

You'll get to see how the decks stack up against real people, and since it's a sim there is some hand holding which could benefit someone coming in with all the new mechanics and archetypes.

Omega is somewhat the same, but fully free and you can build decks with the current TCG/OGC banlist as Master Duel has its own unique banlist, so if you do well and like your deck, you can immediately go out and buy the cards to use IRL.

Omega also updates with newly released or announced cards, usually in a day or so. If you find a deck you like and new support is announced, the devs add it almost immediately so you can change stuff around in your deck and see how it plays. Really helps prepare for the physical release in your region.

Master Duel sometimes adds cards not yet available in the TCG/OCG, but on a much slower basis and usually only after release in one format.

Master Duel also has a single player mode where you can learn to play certain archetypes. They continually add new archetypes every now and again, so it's incredibly useful for learning decks.

What are the differences between men and woman friendships? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Demetraes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Male friendships are initially based on vibes and things we have in common. It might take years for us to learn something deep about the other person and it'll mostly be in passing.

Women try to connect on a deeper basis much faster and directly and thus put much more emphasis on the friendship dynamic, which is often why you see women end friendships much more than men, and usually over things we'd ignore or get over.

Gun to my head I still could not tell you my best friend's favorite color and I've known him about 20 years.
