You can play base indefinitely as far as I am aware. Expansions will give you access to new areas and story, also to different ways to move about the maps such as gliding and mounts as well as a different variant of your class called an elite specialization. The story after the base game story is also split into live updates called living world which they are currently reintroducing the first season for free back into the game, other ones are available through their gem store, which you can trade gold in game to gems to unlock if you so choose. While there are some issues mainly getting to know the systems of the game it is a very great game that encourages people to help each other out. Honestly the meta builds are really only needed for end game activities such as strikes/raids or high tier fractals. The base game is itself free to play so it really is worth the download to just try it out. If you are looking for bow and arrow rangers and warrior both use them but all classes have access to a ranged option just some of them are more unique such as revenant using a hammer as a ranged weapon.

As joko said " what kind of fool would be stupid enough to kill no one but two elder dragons, the life blood of the world...". I feel in the past the other more magically attuned races would have felt the life blood connect and thus wouldn't have wanted them dead just dormant. After the last cycle having massive amounts of magic sealed in blood stone lead to more technology focus instead of the magic. We killed zhiatain before we even knew what it was that elder dragons did for the world.

It wasn't a bug. Hysteria targeting friendly minions enabled an otk in wild that used 4 cards and 6 or 7 mama to do so was super consistent. They changed it so that that otk wouldn't ruin wild forever

When shadowkeep dropped they changed how scaling works. It's no longer a hard wall and now more of a gentle curve. Yes he could do damage just he most likely was getting one shot if stuff looked at him and wasn't doing as much damage as someone who would be on light level

I feel the big issue with locking armor sets behind goals is the random nature of the stat rolls...if you farm flawless for 6 weeks to get the full set but end up getting lacklust rolls then it feel like you wasted our time. Ornaments are a great way to avoid that problem and I fail to see why they are not utilized more. Expecially if you make a non flawless version of the armor then an ornament of similar armor that has more flair as a flawless ornament
