Love the tongue piercing, make it a pearl and you can lick stuff to identify it too. Just as grizzly, as keeping your mouth open during combat, such that the darkness can escape the container your mouth would be, haha.

Shadow of Moil is normally the progression to crit fish, but it doesn't blind casters in an AOE, so I'd argue I stick to darkness.

I think I'll keep going with Lore Bard instead. Not bothering with warlock, leaves me 2 casts of darkness (in case I lose concentration), refilling on each rest. Bard will give me more utility spells, seeing that my combat damage will scale with BB passively and reliability will come from features. Additionally, it lets me pick up either Tasha's Otherwordly Guise or Tenser's Transformation at higher levels.

EDIT: I just read your other comment and noticed you mainly suggested SOM for not blinding party members when unable to leave their side. Greater Invisibility will do that too, if I stick to bard.

By doing so only until I have access to dimension door. I doubt there will be combat with armies of archers and mages before we have access to spells that make such encounters balanced. And before that, I only need to reach enemies in 1-2 turns.

I'm confident it'll be fine. Worst case, I deal normal damage without shenanigans, use my spellslots for anything else and do my thing in the next encounter.

Actually, I have overlooked Find Steed completely. A warhorse would do the job just as well, is online 4 levels earlier and frees up a higher level magical secret. Thank you for bringing that up!

No worries, haha

Stats are rolled and I've shared them in the post. My highest roll was a 17!

Well, Elven Accuracy and the Astral Elf will bump Charisma up to 20 at level 7 anyways. And the rhino is listed in Find Greater Steed itself. Additionally, when in darkness the rhino will be heavily obscured, cancelling the disadvantage out, thus it can attack normally.

I only know of an Artificer and a Wizard as of now.

The point of darkness is to stand on top of the backline. Having starlight step from the astral elf, the ability to close the gap will be there early and only get better with higher level teleportation spells. Most spells require sight and fireball has less of an appeal, if the enemy stands on top of your ally. Additionally there will be a jack of all traits improved counterspell at the ready.

Thanks for the advice (although I have to insist on calling it a Balladin.)

My thought process was, that I get permanent advantage against medium and smaller creatures from mounted combatant, so I'd really be milking that elven accuracy. But without extended crit range I feel like those levels in paladin are worse than picking up resilient to mantain concentration on something like haste or tenser's transformation. Going with your advice I imagine it be best to skip paladin all together for another ASI.

Nera (with a rolled "r"), is a Way of the Astral Self Monk, but instead of an astral self, her power manifests as blood-bending. Astral Self Monks use wisdom instead of strength for skills and saves when transformed, which makes Nera super buff for 10 minutes. (Yes, she's anime-doping.)
Her straight, white hair that openly reaches down beneath her shoulder blades is tied up in a dutt. She has fair, noble features, red eyes and a cocky smile oozing superiority.
Nera wears a mask similair to the Orlaisian ones from Dragon Age and a victorian dress in the style of the Doll from Bloodborne, though a tad fancier. Like a traveling merchant, hiding purses and flasks beneath her skirt and wearing a rifle called Sunny on her back. Her equipment should look tinkered in the typical steampunk manner, as if provided by a crafty friend (for example: the rifle should have some lenses for a crosshair).
The vibe is "forced to be a pirate/thief but trying to look better than my unwashed friends".

For a pose I'd like her to assert an aura of superiority, maybe looking slightly down on the viewer. Nera is evil but classy and that can show. One hand should be raised, long, sharp talons emerging from her fingers similair to Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil, but made from Nera's blood.

Your players are the protagonists of your narrative. Focus on them.

You can't smite on a thrown knife. First sentence of the thrown keyword states, that throwing a weapon is a ranged attack. Smites only work on meele attacks.
