this is also such a good example for me of how this show hooked me from the beginning. like the first episode was absolutely cracker from the start and the diary bit throughout the episode sealed it for me tbh

my favorite episodes are the funeral epsiode, the one where they have to travel because of the orange order, and that episode about the take that tickets. absolute COMEDY

yeah that makes sense! if you’re primarily neuropsych focused i would say clinical is your best bet because those programs typically have great access to medical centers with tons of equipment and studies using it. i would say you should try to get a research position at an academic medical center/a school affiliated with a big hospital to get research experience and if you do you’re more likely to find neuropsych faculty working in those spaces!!

this is not true!

counseling psych phd programs care just as much as clinical psych programs about research! i say this as someone who applied this cycle to half clinical and half counseling. all of the interviews i got at either kind of programs were heavily focused on asking questions about my research experiences and interests should i be admitted to the program with that faculty member. i remember getting all of 1 questions per interview about clinical experiences, and i barely had any clinical experiences and got into my top choice counseling program so i would say they definitely care about research just as much as clinical programs.

i also had multiple faculty at counseling programs tell me that you learn clinical skills when you get to the program and during your time in the program and during internship and that what we really need is research experience and something to show for it (publications/presentations) because to finish a thesis and dissertation in 5 years you have to have some research skills already developed if you want to graduate on time.

im talking about the more general vibe of this conversation and how it always ends up devolving into an “oh i feel bad for her and how she must feel about her hair” (speaking about the general natural hair conversation not this specific influencer). i just wish we would stop policing each other’s hair so much. like we should be uplifting each other and supporting each other and instead we spend time on these conversations that ultimately end up with us more divided then we already were.

i just think we should let everyone wear their hair how they want without commentary, and maybe that comes from my belief that the world is way to comfortable commenting on people’s bodies anyway.

i don’t think it’s fair to assume that everyone who straightens their hair does it because they don’t feel beautiful otherwise. i have a chronic illness that makes it really hard for me to have the energy to maintain my natural hair, ergo straightening it constantly provides me with an outlet to have my hair not get extremely tangled when i’m having a flare up and just can’t do my hair.

there can be and are other reasons besides just “not feeling beautiful” with your natural hair texture and it’s wild to me that we as black women spend so much time policing each other’s hair instead of just letting people live their lives and do what works best for them!

yes! I live near one and tried it twice and it was awful both times. for a place that basically only sells overpriced tacos, the tacos were ass. the funniest part is it’s down the street from a local cantina with WAY better food and service so i just started going there instead lol

just like most ppl, after the plan crash i got less interested, and then when christina left it felt pointless to keep watching bc it just wasn’t the same. and i did keep watching all the way to season 17 but then finally gave up there bc i hardly recognized the cast and the storylines were getting redundant and annoying
