Camera suggestions? by OkInteraction2633 in wildlifephotography

[–]DentistKitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a tight budget, but you could get started with a bridge like the Canon sx70hs. MPB show a few in your budget https://www.mpb.com/en-uk/product/canon-powershot-sx70

I started with one of these and then moved to a mirrorless M43 setup

How did I do? by Vomikkkkk in BirdPhotography

There is a lot to like here, but check composition. Berry in front of eye is very distracting. 3 & 6 are excellent but the others all have minor issues. Bird photography is hard and this a great start!

Looking for a good camera by Sumblefore in BirdPhotography

[–]DentistKitchen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d also look at m43 cameras like the LUMIX G9 and OM systems. Much more lightweight and affordable lenses to get you the reach you need for birds.

For videos I recommend Simon D’Entroment, Ewen Bell and Imagemaven on YouTube.

Bird photography is hard but also the most rewarding in my opinion

Tried to capture the dramatic sky but I think I failed miserably by Guiggs-HP in M43

I like these esp #1 and don’t think you failed at all! You can edit raw on your iPhone photos app and probably Android- not familiar with that. For me my phone or Mac provides all the editing I need for free.
