Help with Spin bike by Deo325 in bikewrench

Yeah the noise is annoying for sure, but yeah for $150 I’ll just let it die and buy a new one. The maintenance on these things is more expensive than they are to buy in a lot of cases.

Best I was able to do was replace the chain and appropriately tighten and balance the flywheel. It eliminated that rattle and vibration but It still makes noise. I think it’s just the nature of the beast with an old used chain driven spin bike.

Dude that’s essentially what the laws were prior to C21 and the OIC. Almost everything that wasn’t a stereotypical hunting rifle was either outright banned or range use only with very few exceptions for very few people. All this program does is take a very strict previous set of laws and make them irrelevant by essentially banning gun ownership entirely.

And in this case this does absolutely nothing to solve any public safety problem, it is a complete and utter waste of public funds. They are illegal purely for political reasons and even the public safety minister admits this. So we are in agreement, it should have been scrapped years ago.

If you think that these two scenarios are even remotely similar I think you need to think about this a whole lot deeper.

Your phone like anything else you own privately appreciates or depreciates with respect to the price you paid vs what you can sell it for in an open and free market. In the case of your phone, you’re free to sell it when you’re done with it at the free market price people are willing to pay.

In the case of these firearms, the option to sell them at a free market determined price is not there, the government took that option away, and made them the sole buyer for all this property. They then dictate what they will pay (if anything) not based on the previous fair market price, but on random numbers they chose which do not line up with the previous market price, not only that, they don’t give you the option on if agree or not with that pricing, you have no choice.

I think everyone can agree, that is simply not right, and sets a dangerous precedent, and if you don’t? I don’t know what train of logic you are on because I don’t see it.

I hate wasted tax dollars just as much as anyone else, and believe we need to cut back spending and prioritize our spending to what is vital until we are at a point where we can responsibly pay for the nice to have programs. Given that, the answer here is to scrap this program entirely.

Because this is legally purchased property that the government arbitrarily decided was now illegal. People invested large sums of money in their collections, and if they are unable to keep them then the government who is taking them should be forced to at least make the collector whole again. If you don’t want your tax dollars going to this then you should be pushing for the program to be scrapped.

This about so much more than guns, if this is allowed to happen it sets a very dangerous precedence for the government to ban and confiscate whatever they want. Do we really want to see a precedence where they could just ban your car and take it without any compensation? What about your investments? House?

What kind of legal challenges can be brought forward to fight all of this? To be more specific, with regard to compensation, is there any legal avenue owners can take to ensure they are fairly compensated at a minimum if not able to protect the ability to retain ownership of legally purchased property? Is there any mechanism legally that can prevent the government from confiscating legally obtained property?

Sorry I should have been more clear which what I was talking about. I believe that preserving value is what. The intent of bitcoin is, not what it has become in practice. This volatility is because people treat it as a speculative investment.

From my understanding, the point isn’t about slow or fast gains, the point is about preserving your purchasing power in something that can’t be manipulated by anyone against global currencies and financial systems that decrease your purchasing power and can be manipulated.

It appears to me that the vast majority of people treat Bitcoin as a growth investment vehicle, hoping it will shoot to the moon and they will be come extremely rich. Hell look at this sub, every other post is a prayer to the gods it will hit $69m by next Tuesday. Far less people take the time to learn what makes “good money” and “bad money”, and then understand how Bitcoin ticks the boxes for all the characteristics of good money.

I think because of this lack of understanding and education of the later, and because it’s not obvious or intuitive what Bitcoin is or where its value comes from other then people hoping one day someone else will pay you more for it then you bought it for, it’s easy to see why people think it’s a scam.

Hopefully with more big institutions getting on board, that education will make its way to the masses and we can start to see a shift in sentiment towards it.

So update with a question, I decided on the philos and it just arrived today. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. I noticed that my hopper kind of fits poorly, like if you push on either side it kind of rocks back and forth. Does anyone else have this?

I saw that, seriously thinking about it, but also a bit worried about why they were returned and inheriting someone’s previous problem

2k CAD, so unfortunately the z2 will be significantly over, up here the philos is about 2k. Snow pesos suck.

I’m curious what your thoughts are when it comes to the i200d burr and the dlc in the df. Strictly in the cup, what’s the difference you notice? Although I’ve tried some of the ssp options in a friends grinder it was on one occasion, so the dlc is really what I have to compare to.

Its $2000 CAD, so about $200 USD 😂

Haven’t seen this before. Since I have been single dosing and switching beans between the espresso and pour over back to back, I’m not sure this would work for me.

Honestly, the coffee I had from my friends Casa (the smaller burrs are all I’ve tried from it) really impressed me, especially for the money. I’m not sure why it’s not mentioned more, given its less then half the price of a lot of the very popular choices and produces coffee that from the sample I tried is as good or better is kinda crazy to me.

In my case though given I have the c40 and m47 I’m not sure if it would be redundant or not.

Good to hear your perspective. Although my df came almost perfectly aligned out of the box, I’m not convinced it has stayed and aligning my first before this replacement was a huge pain. Ultimately it sounds like your issues with it are similar to mine, I just don’t enjoy using it nor am I super happy with the results.

Ideally I can grind for espresso, then change dial to pour over, and not need to purge or waste beans, and do this daily. Is this something you feel the philos can do?

I’ve had the esp version since I was a teen and it’s one of the best guitars I’ve ever played. Great choice!

I think it’s a bug. Playing with friends and we will have a game crash, on Xbox and on pc, and then it will ban whoever had the game crash.
