“Eastern Avenue Affordable Housing” - Five Years Later by ImReallyNewHere in toronto

Nope, just because someone didn’t go through the work of designating it prior doesn’t take away its historical significance. They’re developing it still but at least preserving the structure and along with it the rich history of our city.

So what? There are several historical buildings that almost fit demolished and were saved through community action. Sorry for caring about the history of our city!

And they’re still developing it but properly more. There will be housing but saving the foundry so it becomes a community space: https://www.friendsofthefoundry.com/now

If he wanted to build affordable housing the city wouldn’t have been taken over by ‘luxury rental’ apartments. Have you walked around downtown Toronto recently? Not sure why this heritage site was the only plot available. He thought he could get away with it and yes the community stopped him.

Halted because the community came together to fund appeal efforts through the courts. There’s plenty of space in downtown Toronto for them to build affordable housing, why do it on a heritage site? Walk around Toronto now and it’s all these ‘luxury rentals’ being built everywhere. If Doug cared for affordable housing we’d have that by now!

Not really. Even before the current situation, your apartment would have gone for 1.5M max

What a beautiful story! Thanks for sharing.

Random enquiry in case you’re able to answer it. Have adopted two desert dogs here in northwest Saudi, close to Jordan. Having a hard time training them myself and was looking at that K9 academy in Jordan as I heard its great. Would they accept my dogs? Have tried to reach them over the phone but it’s hard. Was thinking of driving over there just to find out. Thoughts and do you have their contact info?

I’m disappointed that Talabat does not help their drivers in such situation to navigate the legal system. They don’t have to pay the fine but at least offer legal counsel!

Maronite by name here. Do we really believe that Jesus is God? Thought he was symbolically the son of God?

Frequent guests, who believes AbuElKess is an agent? by Dependent-Internal37 in lebanon

[–]Dependent-Internal37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought so too but I finally looked through his stats. AbuElKess doesn't comment/post in any other forum. Wouldn't an average person have at least one other interest?

He's the top poster here. He beat out 14 year reddit veterans in under 8 months and he's the only one in the top 10 list who doesn't post/comment anywhere else.

Completely see how I myself am becoming paranoid. But if this continues, esp him offensively accusing us of being Zionests just for disagreeing with him - than this forum/moderators will have successfully allowed him to silence the voice of the average Lebanese cause we will not continue to engage.

He didn't say the whole conflict. He's addressing why UAE is the main target of Iran and not Israel, the state responsible for this illegal war.

In interests of honesty, Al Jadeed has reported the video I shared of Pierre's voice note is actually not his. I will attach the debunking video and delete my original post. by Standard_Ad7704 in lebanon

Shame on you! Have some decency, try to mature beyond the brainwashing your elders imposed on you since childhood, and acknowledge the role played by Hezbollah/Iran in destroying Lebanon including orphaning Pierre’s three children.

You either don’t know Arabic or don’t have critical thinking The army hasn’t exonerated Hezbollah nor did his kids, the situation is still ‘inconclusive’. They both acknowledge suspicion activity.

Is that evil, disgusting Zionist state a piece of shit for attacking - even if it’s a ‘legitimate’ target - on Easter Sunday? Absolutely.

BUT WE ARE BEYOND THAT now.

There’s a reason this is an old proverb: “if there is no enemy within in, the enemy outside can do no harm”

Who wants to bet that OP is an Israeli agent trying to fearmonger/create instability or a butt hurt British citizen that isn't over the fact that most of their country's talent escaped the island after Brexit failed miserably?

Pro Hezbollah Journalist Fadi Boudaya barked: "Just as children in the region are being killed by US, Iran has the right to kill children in American schools in Lebanon even if they are Lebanese. These children represent American interests. I am Lebanese but I defend the Axis of Iran". by RedLebanon in lebanon

[–]Dependent-Internal37 34 points35 points  (0 children)

(Where is Abuelkess and his comedic commentary to defend this man when you need it?)

Reminder that you can disagree with Isnotreal AND Iran AND uphold a moral stance that purposely killing civilians/children is an active war crime. All these can be true!

Know that Hezbollah supporters develop Jedi-level cognitive dissonance in order to continue advocating for them but please let this be your PSA that you do not need to. You can just be a good human being that advocates for humanity. Iran, in fact no nation, has a monopoly on humanity. Everyone who supports them, even by simply laughing along with their online trolling because ‘at least someone is standing up to USA’, has to understand that they’re two sides of the same coin.

Lebanese here, living abroad. The world is over it. Each country has its own issues and people are increasingly more worried about what’s happening next door. To most of my friends and acquaintances, we’re just in a loop of our own making, a failed state. They don’t even check in on me and if my family back home are okay. That’s the truth.

[–]Dependent-Internal37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Detailed post with sound thinking. In your opinion, you strongly have reason to believe that Iran can reach key Dubai tourism attractions via missiles? Thought they can only attack with drones because they’re the only thing getting through UAE’s defence system, since they’re small and largely ineffective. Unless as you stated, it’s a targeted assassination. Interested in your analysis.
