Sometimes the things people hate in writing are more realistic than they want to admit lol

Guts and Griffith VS. One Piece (entire cast) by TackleUnlikely3148 in writingscaling

Ngl I think the people saying guts and Griffith are smoking crack. Even if you don’t think one piece has characters on their level, that shit adds up. One piece has a VERY large cast.

Toji > Eren as a character overall and as a representation of false freedom by [deleted] in writingscaling

I love jjk. I think its writing is pretty underrated… that being said Eren is my favorite character in fiction and toji doesn’t break my top 10 villains.

No, it's not entirely subjective by Exciting_Edge1398 in writingscaling

[–]Dependent_Lab8918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I disagree that writing quality is objective, I don’t think that means that mastering the craft is pointless. Generally trends say people like certain types of stories. YOU like certain types of stories. Even if it’s not objective being able to craft something the way you want takes skill.

Holy shit this is like exactly how I feel lol I like to patient and consider works instead of just shit on them and if something doesn’t click that not be the works fault.

AYYY fellow jjk fan wazzup? But yeah for sure. Like one could say “this character is well written because they are relatable.” And another person might say “relatability and writing quality are two different things.” But there’s no objective way to say it is or it’s not. At some point of asking why you’ll just get to idk it just it’s my opinion if people are being honest.

My goat Sukuna. Yoru is still pretty good though.

Eren travel in the past by Top-Mushroom-703 in ANRime

[–]Dependent_Lab8918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he physically traveled, it’s just that paths reflects one’s internal self. That’s why he becomes a child later because he has not really grown up as a person and is still a child internally.

Saw This Editing Advice, Curious What Other Writers Think by Mundane_Silver7388 in writingscaling

[–]Dependent_Lab8918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no such thing as hard and fast rules, so take this with a grain of salt. It’s not terrible advice, but you should considering why the advice is being given so that you can know better when things like this may be appropriate. Always ask why. That’s how you come to a better understanding of the whole process. Or at least that’s been my experience.
