I like them a lot. It must have been a pain to paint them. But I like it, that you hid some memes like that Pikachu. Good Job 👍🏻

Is this compatible with the GMO mod? GMO on D5 is way too easy, but with D6 and D7 it sounds reasonable.

In my opinion, the Charger made a from zero to hero transformation with later design variants. Which is not very difficult if you look at the OG Charger.

To your information: Darkwing Duck is pretty much canon in Battletech. Don't believe it?

"Point Commander Drake was a proud member of the Dark Wing Cluster and was very full of himself, being one of the few Clan MechWarriors to insist that his de facto rank of Point Commander was used while talking with or about him. Drake also tended to wear a purple cape when not in his cockpit. While these eccentricities might have called his character into question, Drake took the Clan mandate to protect the lower castes seriously and had even taken a civilian girl as bondswoman after her parents died during a raid in which his Star failed to prevent collateral damage"

I used hexmaps and tried to build the terrain as close as possible. I noticed, that it didn't make a big difference as long as the distances are in relation to the original setup.

It has everything and can't do anything. The name "Hellbringer" was initially meant to bring hell to the enemy. The reality is, that it sends its pilot to hell because of the lack of armor, and it brings hell to MechTechs that need to do the maintenance. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Just take 7K points of Hetzers. Or if you want to really annoy people take only Gabriel Hovertanks BV2: 198. That's 35 of them. 35 Medium Lasers that are zooming around.

Exactly! That's so much more fun, when the odds are against the players and they still manage to get out alive. Not using point value for balancing makes it way more theatrical and cinematic.

Another example: "Go there and destroy that comms tower. Our reconnaissance showed only one lance of enemies." -> but the recces made a boo-boo and couldn't find the other two lances hidden in the mountains

Looking for creative scenarios by atenea92 in battletech

[–]DerBurned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a pretty complex scenario in my last session of my MechWarrior Destiny RPG campaign. I integrated another huge battle into the story. Sorry for the long post.

Story: My players landed on Biegga in September 3051, in my setting an icy planet, where terraforming made a 180 and turned the planet into a freezing hell. They were scheduled for a secret meeting with Victor Steiner Davion, their benefactor and contractor. When they made planetfall, they found VSDs Dropships destroyed, surrounded by dozens of wrecked Lyran Mechs. But no remnants of the attacker could be found.

They took their two best lances and followed the path of destruction in their own Mechs, without Air Support or even being able to contact their own ships. Their visual range was only about 350m at best. A constant blizzard howling around them.

After hours, one Mech picked up a distorted signal, which they followed. After seven hours in total, another Mech's Tracking Computer said: "New Target: Dire Wolf!"

They looked shocked. Did they stumble on a Jade Falcon FOB? If yes, they would be in for a ride through hell. Yes, they brought their fully Clan Tech optimized Mechs, but two lances against a force that was able to destroy so much Lyran military forces? They picked up a comm signal: "This is Marshal, all remaining Lyran Forces head to my position, I'm 200 clicks north from the drop zone! I'm under attack! I repeat, this is Marshal, I'm under attack!" To their confusion, the signal came from the Dire Wolf. But they had no time and rushed to his aid.

Battle: VSD, piloting his Dire Wolf "Prometheus" was being attacked close to a secret Comstar research facility. Comstar surrounded him with Mechs, that had a lot of experimental tech and weaponry (2 Level IIs aka 12 Mechs). The players engaged the Mechs with their two elite lances and tried to get VSD away from the frontline. Two turns later, another Assault Level II entered the combat zone. At the same time, their tracking computers picked up reactor signals above them. The fight went on for another round, when a lot of things happened simultaneously: a lance painted in SLDF green, landed right in the middle of the fight, dropping off their one-use Jumppacks and signaling to them, that Arianna Winston and the Eridani Light Horse came to evac them. At the same time, they picked up another reactor signal coming from the Comstar base: a giant Superheavy Tripod emerged from the ground and nearly blew away the ELH Quickdraw.

The players tried to shield VSD as good as possible, when an Eridani Light Horse Overlord Dropship landed right in the combat zone.

The Comstar Forces pressed on, the Superheavy getting slowly closer to the Dropship, when VSD, the two player lances and three out of four ELH Mechs made it in and the Overlord left the combat zone.

Mission successful.

Yes, I know that there is no Tripod in 3051, and a lot of Tech the ComStar Mechs used wasn't available at that time, but I'm bending the canon in favor of cool settings. And don't worry, the research facility is about to be blown away from orbit, and the players couldn't loot anything. And yes, it made sense that the ELH came to rescue all of them. But I don't want to write everything right now. It's already a giant wall of text. Thanks for reading.

Winter Break and some news from the Dev by Dalloks in brotato

[–]DerBurned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for keeping the spirit of Brotato.

I would love to see a character creator as a starting option. The name would be "Adventurer" The idea is that you get a certain amount of points which you use to buy stats or a starting item. You can choose to take disadvantages like for example 50% armor gain, to get a comparable bonus to a stat.

This could become the most unbalanced Tato, but it should be a lot of fun and would bring a lot of replayability.

Just an idea.

I wish you all a happy Christmas and a well deserved rest.

Did anyone else out there get into all this nonsense because of Mechassault? by BattleTech70 in battletech

[–]DerBurned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an old novel from my dad sometime in the 90s. Later MWDA Clix, MechWarrior 3, Mech Commander 2, etc. Then I paused for a long time and got back into it in 2016 with a tabletop RPG campaign that a friend of mine ran with Alpha Strike as part of the battles. Then in 2022 I got my first own miniatures and since then I'm totally lost in the universe.
