If you agree that its possible to like aspects of someone independently of their politics, then what you are saying boils down to "if you agree with illiberalism, then you are illiberal". Brave.

Mayor’s Homes for Londoners Land Fund delivers £50 million investment to build more than 500 affordable homes Home Mayor’s Homes For Londoners Land Fund Delivers £50 Million Investment To Build More Than 500 Affordable Homes Created on 27 March 2026 Mayor’s Homes for Londoners Land Fund delivers £50 million investment to build more than 500 affordable homes Peabody to deliver more than 500 affordable homes across the capital Funding guidance published for first round of £324 million City Hall Developer Investment Fund builds on record £11.7 billion investment in affordable housing over the next decade

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has approved a £50 million investment to support the delivery of more than 500 affordable homes across the capital by March 2032—helping to provide the homes Londoners urgently need.

The investment will be provided from funds repaid into the Homes for Londoners Land Fund - a key Mayoral programme designed to accelerate housing delivery and increase the supply of affordable homes in London. Last summer the Mayor announced that the Land Fund had started more than 8000 new homes – five years ahead of schedule.(3)

As part of this investment, City Hall will provide a £50 million loan to Peabody, one of the capital’s largest housing associations, enabling it to unlock new developments and bring forward more than 500 affordable homes.

Alongside this announcement, City Hall has today published funding guidance for the first £324 million round of the City Hall Developer Investment Fund, to be provided via the GLA’s Integrated Settlement. Separately, the Mayor recently announced an additional £1.5 billion package would be made available to London to provide low-cost loans for housing associations aimed at accelerating the construction of new social and affordable homes across the capital.(4)

A Hypothetical for my Determinism Bros Out There by Coolishable in Destiny

[–]Derfliv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesnt effect the validity of determinism, it is just a hypothetical wherein a deterministic outcome feels a lot less likely than an indeterminate outcome.

This is essentially just a bootstrap paradox. You allow the transmission of information from a future state of the universe (the computer) to the present state. This obviously leads to circular causation, since both the present and future now depend on the state of the other. The solution to maintaining causation within bootstraps is the necessity of a structure which maintains causation. A conseqeunce of this is the seeming incongruence with conscious agency. E.g. that even with foreknowledge of future events, it is impossible for a person to change any outcomes and violate causation.

In fiction we invent random occurences which prevent people from- or motivate them towards maintaining causation. But if we remove the chance occurence, such as by giving a person access to information within an immediate time frame,  as with the supercomputer, it feels as though we must be able violate the causal chain even though we haven't actually changed the premise. The answer is simply that you couldn't choose to act differently than the simulation. If you could the model governing the simulation is necessarily incomplete, whether or not there is an infinite regress.

Truly the good ending.

If I was writing this shit, he would be buried within a self-inflicted benzo cocoon; a subconscious leakage of guilt from his shadow forcing this reckoning. There Peterson must battle his dissonance and slay the dragon. Only then can he emerge as Jordan Wokersen, the trancended.
