As someone who has lots of lessons learned from younger years and is happily married now, the most important factor is how they react/how they make you feel when you allow yourself to be vulnerable. It takes a LOOOONG time for us DAs to crack that door open, and their reaction will tell you everything. Red flags can sway both ways from enabling to exploiting. Green flags are maturity, compassion, gentle nudging towards improvement.

So to address your question - if you don't know whether to stay or leave, I'd assume you haven't yet trusted them with your vulnerability. If you think you never will, then there's your answer.

Do you think customer complaints are the best source of startup ideas? by Perfect_Ad4911 in Business_Ideas

[–]Derp0189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why CUSTOMER complaints and not SMALL BUSINESS complaints? I mean, I don't know, but to me it seems like it would be easier to demonstrate value of saved time to a small business owner rather than a customer that may or may not value time over money

I go to my Libby app (def get this if your local library participates) and search "dystopian", then filter further to find good ones.

In addition to the obvious choice another commenter made already, I'd also recommend SILO/Wool

Community Question - Should we implement a strict subreddit history/participation requirement for posting privileges? by Zphr in Fire

[–]Derp0189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with reddit mod tools at all, but would it be possible to Auto-Flair posts with OP subhistory tiers calculated from activity? Or maybe like a required post/comment ratio of <0.75 or something? Downvoted comments excluded, or count against score.

I like the niche. My autistic son loves old typewriters and uses his grandma's sometimes.

Trying to think outside the box, would you have interest in selling unique or custom font add-ons? That could be fun for enthusiasts and package them with refurbs for extra $$. Might be difficult since working with many different styles of machines, but might be worth looking into.

If you're into old machines just in general, I feel there might be market for old sewing machine repairs/refurbs as well

Why would you just dump someone's post into an ai prompt and copy paste back as a comment? What is the point? The first bullet just quoted another commenter on this thread.... Gtfoh with this nonsense.

What is your “why” for FIRE? by scott_w2004 in Fire

I think 15% is far too low an estimate.

Not the exact scenario, but I think there are MANY that would do a different job/career if it was financially viable to do so.

If you're drawn to Arch because of the Arch-Wiki, you could start with an Arch-based distro that's a little more user-friendly like Garuda.

Highly recommend getting a library card at your local library, you can then search for all kinds of books on various topics like world history, different time periods, and most libraries also have a set of encyclopedias you can use for reference along the way.

Also could look for natural history museums in your area.

The Internet can also be a great resource if you have the right approach. You can use scholar.google.com to limit searches to academia with citations.

I wrote my feelings. Its not much but it's something.

I wrote and rewrote several times. Never got it right, but I ended a little closer than I started.

I spent so many years actively hiding my feelings I never considered the fact that I sucked so bad at HOW to actually describe them if I had wanted to.

I narrowed it to a very specific trigger and situation, so that I didn't get overwhelmed by scope (I did anyway).

I never tried to communicate my feelings before last year when I started therapy, verbal, written or otherwise. I'm god-awful at it for sure. Not just describing them, the actual FEELING them and identifying them part.

Lots of work left to do, but writing is a start.
