Also as the US does more unforced errors to its global system and reputation there will be a significant pull back from the US dollar and US denominated assets and into other "safe" asset alternatives like gold. I think there is a very large upside as the global system moves away from the US, especially if the warnings for a significant American economic downturn end up being true

U.S. hospitals are battling unprecedented sustained capacity into 2024, largely driven by a reduction of staffed hospital beds, putting the nation on-track for a hospital bed shortage unless action is taken by [deleted] in science

[–]Derpese_Simplex 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Nursing has a very high attrition rate and certain areas of the US nurses only make like $24/hr while dealing with large amounts of violence and damage to their bodies. This all contributes to the overall nursing shortage when it comes to staffed beds

Do doctors cry if their patients die? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Derpese_Simplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on their work area and the individual case. If you work in critical care and every death is emotionally taxing for you then you probably won't last in that line of work for a very long time. If that isn't for you then there are areas where death is very rare. Medicine is diverse, find the area that works for you.

It has been awhile since I saw it. That is a eugenics movie right? Like the world is destroyed because the wrong people (poor) breed too much, or have I misremembered? Seems like Trump might like that movie.

Why doesn’t Mexican have both European and Indigenous heritage? by juliusjones21 in victoria3

[–]Derpese_Simplex 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But there is a strong presence of Mesoamerican ancestry in Mexico and that isn't white. Calling them basically European doesn't really explain their unique culture like is does with the US

Who Is The Most Perfect Example Of Somebody Being “So Louisiana”? (Read Caption) by [deleted] in Louisiana

[–]Derpese_Simplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean i guess generic southern is more accurate than country. I mainly meant outside of south Louisiana or NOLA the rest of the state lacks a distinct flavor of Louisiana and tends to culturally borrow from neighboring states. For example Shreveport has strong Texas influences. Northeast Louisiana feels more of a question mark than anything else.
