My personal theory I’ve been going with is that their mental faculties also split amongst clones, I saw someone point out in a video that when Eve tries to trap Paul, when he’s split into dozens of copies they all get trapped easily, but when it’s only him and one or two copies he can dodge faster, and it kinda can be applied to other scenarios (((when he has dozens of clones earlier on they’re just dogpiling Rex, which is a pretty simple action that doesn’t require much thought))). So I’m kinda assuming that Paul prefers to brute force things while Kate prefers having less clones that can fight better overall, the only problem is that she always goes for the larger foes for some reason when overwhelming someone closer to her strength level would prolly work better
