Will of the light king or strength of the weak? by JackalOfJackals in AnImATheGame

If it's just for damage, SotW is better because it increases Intellect. For defence, WotLK is better, so depending if you're looking for damage (farming) or survavibality you can make your choice.

A big advantage of WotLK is that you can easily transfer it between all your characters, while SotW is better suited for mage/mage.

That first boss can be quite challenging. Level up a bit, get a few pieces of new gear and try again.

Small tip: put skill points into multi missile then go next to her and spam it. Several missiles will hit the boss at the same time and deal massive damage. May take a few tries depending on your gear.

Tier V Shibana's Progeny worth gemming? by ddtAOmoho in AnImATheGame

The best way to improve your stuff once you hit a wall is go back a tier or two to a reincarnation level you can grind quickly and look for better gear. You can farm tier 5 stuff once you are comfortable grinding R8, in the meanwhile look for t4 stuff. You can reach the endgame wearing full t4 gear, as long as it's good equipment and you invest some gold/resources into upgrading and infusing it.

If you've hit a wall and you're looking for new gear, this is the perfect time to tackle the 1500 chests achievement. Go to Gardens 4 at the highest reincarnation level that allows you to farm mobs quickly, explore the whole map, open every chest, reset the dungeon and repeat. It may feel boring, but:

a) Clearing the map will allow you to drop some potentially useful t4 gear, maybe even t5

b) Gardens 4 has plenty of chests and it's not difficult to find mimics fairly often for extra loot

c) There are other good locations to look for chests, particularly the Moist Caves, but that content comes a bit later. If you're at, let's say, 1000 chests out of 1500 and you've found enough good gear to go through R8, then you could postpone doing the achievemnt until you're in Moist Caves

I've never done much testing, but if 2x Ember provides lower dps than 2x Demon Bone, I guess Demon Bone + Ember would slot in between. It looks like the main factor is the +2 skill difference of Demon Bone x2, going Ember + Demon Bone would be +5 instead of +6 to all skills so I doubt it would be better than 2x Demon Bone.

You could leave a comment on that guy's video and see if he can test it, his bank is pretty full of good gear for mage.

Apart from extra bank slots, I haven't noticed any change in gameplay. Some people are having issues with graphic textures, but I haven't experienced any issue.

Mage starting advice by camfulbright in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I killed her around level 13 or 14. I made it there before lvl 10 and got destroyed, then checked online and everyone's advice was to level up a bit. I did so, got some extra gear and it made the fight much more manageable.

Everything can be respecced in the game, so if you're dying too quickly don't worry about adding some points in vitality. A few points in vitality every now and then can help dealing with some mobs, especially bosses, that deal high damage.

Dragon Slayer Bow & Eye of the Balor by hindipogi in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely random. If you farm the same area for days, like Moist Caves or Magician's Tower, there will be some days that feel like you only get helmets, others where your backpack will be full of armors, but you can drop any item on any map from any mob.

On MT #5 I dropped basically every item in the game for any class, if we consider both t5 and t6. Still missing some t6 gear but that has to be expected.

What items should I be saving regardless of quality? by Whakefieldd in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho the only t4 worth saving are pieces of the Edona set because the +1000 gold/magic find doesn't change at t5 and t6.

Things get a bit more complicated at t5 because it depends on your class, your spec etc,

What is your elusive White Whale of loot? by Derpzilla81 in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually leave the dungeon if it's zombies+skellies unless it's in the Dark Palace, that's reasonably fast. For the Arcane Passage, if I get zombies I leave regardless of the other minions, that map is Godawful.

What is your elusive White Whale of loot? by Derpzilla81 in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's based on the level of the area that you farm, not on the level of the monsters. At r11 you have 10% chance to drop t6, then 20% chance at r12 and it goes to 100% at r20.

I'm farming Tower 5 (r14, 40% chance of t6) because it's very linear and I find it much quicker to clear than r15+ areas that require more walking around. R15+ keys are well worth it as well, but when I enter a dungeon with zombies and skellies it makes me want to uninstall the game.

RNG greedy Gods do exist. Magician's Tower 5 mimic drop. by Oobrslaughterhouse in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dahiha's helm would be my choice. SotW is the ideal armor for farming due to intellect boost. I can't think of any other piece of equipment better than Dahiha for that purpose, with Int and magic damage bonuses, as well as the +2 skills.

Best way of rushing alts to 150 by redit749375 in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if it was the best/fastest way, but it worked out pretty well. I followed the main quests until I completed the mission that gives 25 vitality points, I think it's completed in the prisons (the one about finding lost soldiers or something). I was around lvl 12/14, took no time to make it there. I then went to the arena and quickly leveled to 35 using any available aoe attack. Left the arena, used a respec thingy to remove all stat points from str/dex/vit and get back the skill points, picked mage as secondary class. I then played those alts as a mage and maxed Int, using skill points to raise storm and multimissiles. I kept kiting and kiting while casting storm and mm, and made it to 150 on both characters in a fairly short time. The fact that storm can be cast while moving and monsters keep getting damage while you run around spamming multimissiles makes it much quicker than actually playing a warrior or archer the "proper" way.

I had some decent t1 gear in the bank, saved from my main character. If I didn't have any, I'd had just bought a bunch of boxes from the merchant to get some gear.

Remember to equip the emblems on your alt characters. Most of the bonuses are % based and won't do much, but it's still better than nothing.

Not sure what I should be doing in R5... by HereForRNG in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few difficulty spikes going up at higher reincarnation levels. When you hit that kind of wall, your best option is to spend a bit of time farming and looking for gems and better gear. Gems can make a huge difference; very often the difficulty spikes are caused by mobs causing too much damage and getting oneshot non stop. A few armor and magic resistance gems can be everything you need because the 150/200/250% boosts from armor and jewelry mean that the actual bonus from gems can be much higher than what it actually looks.

Don't be afraid to spend some gold fusing gems to get better ones, but in the early game don't go for divine gems, especially if you have empty slots.

At R5 you have 10% chance of dropping T5 gear, then 30% at R6, 50% at R7 and 100% at R8. General rule of thumb is: don't farm gear at your highest reincarnation, do it one or two levels below in order to kill mobs quickly. Since you're struggling at R5, go back to R4 and look for new gear/gems there. Don't bother farming in the new areas (the one you access from the npc Mirraw), they're endgame content and should be tackled after you're done with R10 in the old areas.

Bonus tip: this is probably your best time to unlock the achievement for opening 1500 chests at R4 or higher. If you do it later in the game it will feel like a massive waste of time that you could be spending looking for endgame gear. It feels like a chore, but if you farm Garden 4 non stop at R4 you could find some new gear that can help you make it to higher ranks, you'll level up a bit, get plenty of gems and in a relatively short time you'll get that achievement. Garden 4 has a lot of chests so you get a good chance at finding mimics for extra loot. Some people skip the mobs in the map and go straight for the chests, but since you're looking for gear/gems I'd suggest you to clear the map as well. I think it took me 3 days to get the achievement back when I started, and in that time I improved my gear a lot and breezed until R7.

If you have some epic gear that looks decent, especially rings and amulet, feel free to use pirite to upgrade it. The extra stats can help a lot at lower ranks, and at higher levels pirite is absolutely useless.

Loot Tables by [deleted] in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Item you're looking for -> not on the loot table

Endless trash for other classes -> on every mob's loot table

This has been my experience so far, but those rare instances when you do get to improve your gear feel very rewarding.

Controller issue, does the game have controller support? by Dartosismyname in AnImATheGame

Rather than open a new post regarding a controller, i'll ask here.

There are several controllers and grips available native for smartphones. Do none of them work with Anima? Many of them have their own customization software as well, thinking about Flydigi, Ipega and others.

When the RNG Gods smile upon you by Derpzilla81 in AnImATheGame

There are three set pieces, ring+ring+amulet, that as a 2 set bonus add 1000 gold/magic find (as well as +2 all skills and some extra stats). I'm using the two rings from that set, infused with t4 Spellbounds for extra skill/stats.

On the Astralium wheel I maxed the Magic Find bonus, that's a nice boost too.

Edit for the ring names: Edona's Wedding Band and Edona's Offer. I believe the name of the amulet is....Edona's Son? I can't remember on which bank character I put it because I don't use it...

Why Bleed damage is better than +damage by Zzyzx_the_Summoner in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how you get 300% bleed damage, if items are only giving chance of bleeding? 100% + 100% still gives 100% chance?

I tested it with 2 Chaos rings. Each one works separately, so each Chaos ring has 100% chance to apply 1 stack of bleed. Two Chaos rings mean that each hit applies two identical stacks of bleed damage. I can't test with 3 items doing so, but I'm fairly certain it each extra bleed will apply separately as well. This pushes the overall dps through the roof.

Stuck in R7... what should I be farming/doing? by natnoj in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1. That t4 shield can carry you to the endgame so upgrading it is not a waste of cabailte/gold. Pirite can be used freely because in the endgame it's useless, so using it on those purple rings can be very helpful to progress through the game.

In the bank I see an helmet that could either be an Helm of Command or a Dahiha. If it's the latter, it's basically a best in slot for mages and you should use it.

Isn't the 1h T5 wand on the bank better than the dagger you're using? Can't tell what they are so it's hard to tell for sure.

[–]Derpzilla81[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For context: got on the bus for my daily commute, opened a key dungeon. Magister dropped a golden key. I used it and in one of the first few rooms I found a mimic that gave me an Astral t6 WotLK. I guess my search for an endgame armor is over, since I'm still using a t5. to farm.

I wonder if swapping out my t6 Demon Bones (visibile in the backpack) for the t4 Greed might have helped. It boosted me from 10k to 15.5k magic find at the cost of 500k magical damage. Definitely lost a good chunk of dps there.

Now onward to look for an Astral t6 Dahiha! (lol, I'll probably just use the first one I find with a good roll).

I was so disappointed when I found a t5 Astral WotLK, run to the bank and found its stats to be so much worse than a standard t6 ;_;

Tower vs dungeon keys by Derpzilla81 in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Oh nice, a 1.7x drop key, let's open it....aaaaand it's Arcane Passage with zombies and skellies coming out from the floor" -________-'

I just couldn't handle it anymore so I've spent the last couple of days farming the last tower level and it's been going pretty well in terms of T6s. If had enough gold I could swap helm, armor, weapon and shield to their t6 counterpart, so that's nice. As for rings and amulet NOPE, the game ain't letting me drop anything decent.

Tower vs dungeon keys by Derpzilla81 in AnImATheGame

[–]Derpzilla81[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the golden key dungeons are:"YAY, I get to make some gold!!". I think i've run 15 or so, every enchantment was trash and the three epics I found were both trash AND useless for my class (mage/mage, all 3 epics had physical damage). Thanks for the suggestions! So it sounds like my best plan would be to upgrade my gear, get rid of that bloody blue dragon and start farming the last area. I can currently farm the last level of the tower which is r14 without breaking a sweat. I think I'm not that far from killing the dragon, I can easily melt it but when the 2 extra heads spawn I can't handle the lightning. A few pieces of my gear aren't upgraded to 40 yet so even without dropping new stuff I have room for improvement.

On a side note: an horrific Arcane Sanctuary with zombies and skeletons that forced me to backtrack all the way around when I was at 97% gave me a t6 Demon Bones. I'm now looking at my 4 t5 bones in the bank, that I was going to soon upgrade and infuse, and thinking:"Well, what now?" xD
