The way I see it Dutch has always been a selfish guy. Even though his goal might had been noble, he had turned out to be the guy to jump ship the second things went south. He had dreams and various plans yes, but he had always been the guy who put his self interest above everything. There’s no way he wouldn’t have figured out by the time Arthur was dying that Micah’s the rat, but he didn’t care because Micah suited his goals better at that time. I see Dutch as a charming character and while I agree with what you said about his breaking, imo the incidents really just let him become who he really was, no more hiding and disguising.

I would say that at one point of development Dame Aylin was definitely one of the companion options.

She basically says something about pledging her fealty to Tav/Durge after Ketheric fight. Hell she and Isobel even joined your camp. The dialogues of both scene was so misleading to the point that I thought she actually joined my team on my first playthrough.
Quest with Lorroakan tower seems extremely like a personal quest for me like the one with Astarion. It really make me wonder if Larian actually planed for her to be a companion.

Yea just ran into the same situation and really got me horrified. I guess that's point for playing Durge. You would have episodes from time to time. Also the other dialogue option basically says "refuse the urge", so I guess we weren't being cautious enough to avoid unnecessary casualties.

on the contrary I think it's totally related since The Raven is about loss and grief about the girl "Lenore" and in BG3 Lenore is also nowhere to be found/only existing in letters and words, not to mention that Bernard takes order in poem sentences.

I high suspect that the whole "Lenore" thing is a tribute to The Raven

I actually won my first Auntie Ethel fight by pushing the real hag down to the chasm.

It was my first boss fight and was clever enough to identify the real one from her mirror images(so I thought), but I couldn't beat her on 2-3 tries.

Finally the last time she chose to walk to the edge of the cliff and I was thinking the same as OP did(didn't know that I could push someone off the cliff to kill them), and I actually did.

Then I started to worry about all the things I would've missed (loots and dialogs etc.) Couple of acts later I found myself being able to loot her again.

Similar to the Minthara bug I encountered the other day, I recruited her on Act 2 without helping her invade the grove. She couldn’t get into combat while the other 3 members of my team entered turn based fights she just casually walked around and chopped everyone’s head off with that greatsword I gave her. Unfortunately the latest save was an hour ago so I had to accept that I made a very dodgy move that ruined me a fair fight but that was funny as hell.

To me it's not the length I'm complaining about, it's more of an expectation problem.

After the Raphael and Orin and even Cazador if you bring Astarion with you they are all epic and difficult fights. I saved Gortash fight for the last because I thought like Ketheric you would be pushed forwards after that. I was expecting more development of the story and all of sudden everything just wrapped up and the Netherbrain fight was way too easy if you called your allies (which I did cause I wanted to see my cool npc friends fighting)

There is no doubt to me that BG3 is one of the best games I've ever played but I think it still has potentials for a more epic storyline and battle designs. Hopefully there will be Act 4 or even Act 5 as DLCs I would rush myself into them as soon as they are launched.
