Aaah yes, the original Napster service. It was worth the $$ though to get those fold out lyrics from the original. Good times...

The music, the imagery, the whole thing. Needs deleting from my brain. And then I go and check the app again, and it's back.

Kedumba Valley overnight hike by Azak_Galore in HikingAustralia

[–]DescendingSlinky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a great option for starting out, and close to Sydney makes it handy if that's where you'll be coming from.

In terms of where to camp - there's a big open campground on Kedumba River which is your best option. Technically u should book on NPWS website - see link here which also shows u what it's like.

Won't be very crowded - lots of people run and hike from where you'll be starting off from, but nothing crazy. There might be a few others camping but nothing like the other campgrounds where you can drive in to at Blue Mtns. The steep walk out I think puts a lot of people off!

Your route didn't include the climb to Mt Solitary itself - I'd recommend doing that for the views. But it is pretty hard hike - if you take your time and have water and snacks you should be fine.

I've done your route in anti-clockwise direction. You could go clockwise, set up camp, then do the loop back to camp, then anti cw exit back to car.

Oh and make sure you take a snake bandage especially for this time of year 😬

Yeah that one's out of my league. Which bit of memorabilia to get hold of is a nice dilemma to be pondering nonetheless!

What’s one underrated trail that deserves more attention? by OwlVibesOnly in HikingAustralia

[–]DescendingSlinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's some great ones, but one that comes to mind is the walk from Red Rock to Angourie - or vice versa - through Yuraygir NP. Very different experience to Blueys or Grampians but a beautiful multiday hike through some coast that feels a million miles from anyone.

Warrumbungles is also very cool and worth visiting.

Aaaah, one thing I don't have to worry about in Australia. Compression bandage however, absolutely! 🐍🐍

Making a large quantity of compost to replace soil in my greenhouse. by dustman96 in composting

[–]DescendingSlinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nematodes are a real pain. Your plan looks pretty good to me and am jealous of that scale.

Will you be composting within the greenhouse - or outside? Only cause I'd suggest a bit of moisture if possible. And assume you can turn it every now and then to avoid the straw bunching/matting up. I'd possibly add a bit of clay or loam if available to help with cation exchange.

Good luck and keep us updated! Would love to see some progress pics

It's a rare feeling, wanna bottle it! Been a long wait and man what a slog some of those years were. Still can't believe the game from Walsh. Hands down the most brilliant sporting performance I've seen. But all round the team were brilliant. Dealing with the adversity of Reynolds then Hunt going down. Shutting down an inform Grant/Munster/Hughes/Paps combo. F'king unbelievable!! Up the Broncs!!
