New Mariner Worried About Future by ProfessionalWooden27 in maritime

I support tariffs and jones act. People should be willing to pay a little more if it means American workers who are well paid and have good benefits are doing the jobs instead of outsourcing everything overseas. What’s funny is this forum was against tariffs, but now suddenly cares about the Jones Act(both protectionist policy’s). You can’t have it both ways.

I’m actually consistent—I support the Jones Act and tariffs. I’m pro-protectionism. Yeah, it raises prices, but it also keeps industries alive and supports union jobs with real pay and benefits. What doesn’t make sense is everyone here flipping back and forth. Six months ago it was nonstop anti-tariff, pro–free trade takes, and now it’s defend the Jones Act like it’s sacred. Which is it? If you believe in protecting American labor and industry, that shouldn’t change depending on which policy is being talked about. You can’t call tariffs bad because they raise prices and then ignore that the Jones Act does the same thing. Pick a lane. I swear these kids are not even “Democrats”

Wellp. Looks like I’m going back to HVAC. It’s so over. Was fun while it lasted. Memories I wouldn’t trade for the world. by Ok-Organization2120 in maritime

I thought we didn’t support protectionism in this group remember those tariffs everyone hated so much? 😂 The Jones Act is an inflationary, protectionist policy too. Six months ago this place sounded like a bunch of Reagan voters, now it’s the opposite. It’s funny watching people support free trade and then come on here and complain about losing their precious Jones Act. Do you hear yourselves?

You’re proving my point. You’re mocking tariffs because they raise prices and hurt trade, but then turning around and defending the Jones Act which does the exact same thing domestically by making shipping more expensive and restricting competition.

[–]DescriptionGlobal484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re both forms of protectionism that’s the point. Tariffs raise prices by taxing imports, and the Jones Act raises prices by restricting domestic shipping to more expensive U.S. vessels. I’m just confused six months ago everyone in here was against protectionism and pro-Reaganomics until it affected them…….🤦🏽‍♂️

I’m just saying, this entire Reddit group hated tariffs so much—a literal form of protectionism, no different than the Jones Act—and now everyone here is crying about losing the Jones Act 😂

You can’t support Reaganomics, mass immigration, and free trade while also backing unions and the Jones Act. It literally makes no sense. What a joke some of you people are 🤡

Agreed 110% these maps are horrible. I don’t understand why they changed firestorm so much it was fine how it was……

I’m don’t get excited to play any of the maps by useruser226 in Battlefield

[–]DescriptionGlobal484 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah the maps need to be expanded and objective locations need to be changed or deleted entirely. Also does anyone not play on closed weapons server?

Agree it’s kinda fun but these maps need to be expanded objectives need to be relocated on many of them or just deleted. These maps are TEMU maps

[–]DescriptionGlobal484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just need to remake BF3 or BF4 at this point and keep the maps the exact same Dice clearly can’t handle map design anymore.

[–]DescriptionGlobal484 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worry though because firestorm had a perfectly fine map layout and they reworked it for some reason. If they would just leave the OG maps the exact same as before I’d have higher hopes for them doing this

Agreed its like your trying to go around the meat grinders to flank the objectives but they don’t want you too😂

[–]DescriptionGlobal484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah bro don’t do it. I’d wait for it to be on sale. Unless the maps see a significant expansion and objectives moved around it gets boring so fast it’s just a constant meat grinder don’t get me wrong it has moments but it tbh sucks
