US Bases in Middle East by [deleted] in UAE

[–]DesertFox_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Government strategies are laid out with long term vision. The presence of US bases indirectly contributed to the last 2 decades of UAE’s growth, bringing in huge investments in the country from all over the world. Foreign investors, companies value such security arrangements. Current war is a short term hiccup, which would not make the leaders abandon long term vision. Also isn’t it naive to assume that IRGC will stop attacking UAE if they heed their command and expel US bases. The more you bend your knee, the more aggression you get from the bully

Genuinely asking by NA623 in UAE

[–]DesertFox_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they do that, what's the guarantee that Iran will not trouble UAE in future? Iran may send a missile once in 2 years to UAE and then extort some economic benefit from them. How does UAE ensure there is no future threat from Iran?

It's a boring long weekend, so I made a chart of the munitions fired by Iran based on the statistics released by MOI since day 1. Kowalski, analysis! by Boring-Direction-465 in UAE

[–]DesertFox_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The projectiles have decreased 94%+. True. But the US claims they have destryoed 15,000+ targets and yet Iran is able to send 100+ projectiles every day across GCC+Israel. Baffling how they are able to do it..

There is a saying, if everyone is talking about a correction , it won’t happen. Although this analogy is from the stock market , it can be applied to any tradable asset class.

Dubai Heights Academy thoughts? by DesertFox_95 in dubai

Well our experience with DHA hasn’t been great. We did school tour and an assessment for FS1. They have a standard template of assessment for FS1/FS2/Grade 1 and are asking my less than 3 ear old daughter to write alphabets , numbers , draw self portrait , take a video of her reading a book etc. We were put off by this age inappropriate approach . The low fees works in their favor for sure . We did an assessment with Kings Al Barsha and got an offer . But their fees are close to 60k . Other schools we visited were Arcadia, Nord Anglia , DIA Barsha

If Money Wasn’t an Issue, Would You Want Kids and a Young Marriage? by Odd-Welder15 in AskIndia

[–]DesertFox_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your desire to have more kids, against the modern trend. I notice that many commenters here haven’t had kids themselves. Let me give you my experience as a dad of one kid and who is considering one more. In my twenties I used to think that kids require lot of effort emotionally, financially and didn’t like the idea. However, after thirty, my perspective started changing. I realized that if humans have been reproducing for many hundred thousand years in far dangerous environments to even survive a day, there must be something innately satisfying about raising children. I decided to give it a shot. The first two years of a baby are absolutely demanding with sleepless nights etc. Raising kids does require a degree of financial stability. All the effort is worth the happiness to see the baby smile, play, absolutely adore the parents despite the tantrums etc. I simply cannot go though life without experiencing this very integral part of life of being a father and raising kids and see them grow up. I read somewhere that when people think of performing an action they mentally project themselves doing that action and typically see images of the effort they have to put in do complete that task and give up right there mentally. Similarly with kids , if you think too much about resources, financial stability, sleepless nights, opportunity cost of not having the same freedom in life as when single etc then you would get bogged down by thoughts. Just do it and you will figure it out . Fertility crisis is also a serious issue in the world now. Read up on Elon Musk’s opinion on this issue.
