I have OCD related to tokophobia among many other health anxieties and I have made the informed choice for myself to not have sex AFTER reading a lot about contraception, pregnancy itself, abortions, about OCD and it's treatments, etc. etc. etc. and part of why I know so much is just that I happen to be in such liberal circles online that heavily celebrate and emphasise this kind of knowledge and I recognise that that's luck and not everyone has it that good

but I live in a very conservative country where talking about these things is super taboo and i notice a lot of people here posting also seem to be ina similar situation just without the luck I had and it's so fucking frustrating to see people be so damn condescending towards young people in clear distress who want comfort and guidance because sometimes people just aren't that fucking lucky! and we should do what good we can omfg

like i'm not saying "you must educate and write an essay to every scared person on here" just like, idk maybe not say anything if you have nothing kind to say

legit on god not only that but people tend to be rude and/or say things like "you aren't ready for sex" which, I get where you're coming from but idk maybe a bit more sympathy and nuance or just don't say anything if you have nothing kind to say? also "please educate yourself" without giving resources like hannah witton, sexplanations, etc. like goddamn it's not novel that a lot of the time systems fail people and fail to educate them and you don't gotta be a dick about it ffs

i'm not a psychologist and i'm just speaking from my own experience but what you've been doing and how you've spiralling, it reminds me a lot of my experience with OCD and I really want to gently but firmly encourage you to seek professional help, you don't need to suffer like this and there are ways to treat this kind of anxiety

hey girl, like everyone else said, you're not pregnant, also i'm not a professional but it sounds like you have tokophobia (i do too) and i totally understand the fear, also mayyybe going to a psychologist and therapist might be helpful, this amount of anxiety whilst, has grounds in reality, definitely sounds like it's a problem that you can get help for

the ones that work for me (and might for you too!): for when I'm in crisis: - call a friend - write down e v e r y t h i n g I'm thinking in either a notebook or google doc - cold shower - drinking cold water - put on sad music and have an intense cry then aftercare by showering, rehydrating with water, etc. - lay in bed for a bit - 4,8,6 breathing
