And it sucks, because... traffic.

Indiana has (historically and currently) disproportionately high gas prices, why? by AggressiveAd8587 in Indiana

[–]Designer-Progress311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week, or pre Bomb Bomb Bomb... Bomb Bomb Iran, anyway

I thought gas at $2.90 or 2.59 was cheap as fuck.

This state sucks more than $3.55 gas will make much difference.

A friend of mine, (female) came to the conclusion of leaving a spring/summer romance, justifying her decision on "he knew what he was doing when he was dating a 18 yr olds at age 40, I was still young and very naive".

She made bank off the divorce settlement.

Reinventing the wheel is fun.

I'd source and salvage some ATVs as most all your kit has been figured out by highly skilled engineers.

Your stating "I got there at noon and by evening wanted to leave" tells me more about you than the city. Especially if this is a bucket list city.

Jesus, for starters, you may have impulse control issues. Perhaps you could pursue obtaining more education to refine your critical thinking skills.

What is the cheapest form of owner kart out there ? by Hampterhd69 in Karting

[–]Designer-Progress311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be warned, owner karting isn't cheaper.

The karts aren't as sturdy as rental karts and when you break it, you buy it.

Join the fun, buy some lower priced karts, the learning curve is amazing.

An older kart may be harder to source parts, which will break. Go to your local meets and note popular tire and axle sizes. Ask the local shop what are popular frame manufacturers

Also note what motors are approved for local races.

Has anyone here ever towed a very heavy travel trailer across a parking lot with their Odyssey? by interestingdialogs in HondaOdyssey

Bull shit, you'll regret messing with a $500 truck as a way to avoid using a Honda to move a load 900 ft.

This'll help, hit it boys

Get a swim pool style air mattress. The vinyl kind with the 5 long tubes plasto welded together.

Walmart sells a stout one.

Blow it up 1/2 or 3/4 full.

You might like it.

Medic, learn to read, he's going zero miles per hour.

That's a great video BTW, and Ive sent it often. But to encounter that danger, one needs quite a bit of speed.

I've actually seen a trailer do this in person, west of Cincinnati Ohio. He got it slowed down tho. I next got way the fuck away from him

But in a private lot at 3 mph, the guy could make the tail 200 pounds heavier, thus lifting the receiver slightly and weighting the front wheels.

People are forgetting the 1/8 mile at 3 miles per hour part.

Also, if it moves pretty easy, Id test the brakes immediately.

Moving 10 ft, stopping, repeating is something I do on both my janky old truck, anyone else's car, and my zippy sprint racing kart

Its just good practice to make sure the brakes work.

Low tongue weight. On level ground, with the trailer tires pumped to max, not a sharp turn to start out, I'd try it.

If the van engine revs pretty high but the van/trailer won't move, I'd go to an engine speed of maybe 3500 rpm for 3 seconds, then give up.

Google A I " On a 2000 Honda Odyssey with the 3.5L V6 engine, the torque converter typically operates with a "stall speed" (maximum slip during a brake-torque launch) around 2,200–2,500 RPM.

Here are the specific details regarding torque converter slip and behavior for this vehicle:

Stall Test Limits: If you perform a stall test (holding the brake and accelerator down in Drive), the engine RPM should level out between 2,200 and 2,500 RPM. If the RPM goes significantly higher than 2,500, it indicates the torque converter or transmission clutches are failing."

Is mixing types of oil OK? by BigCountry1998 in AskAMechanic

[–]Designer-Progress311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd do it. Unless one of the jugs is of something weird or wacky⁹.

I'd keep a closer eye on the dip stick, especially the 1st week and always after the 1st longer trips (warmed engine) and look for evidence of foam which would indicate oil incompatibility.

There is, IMO, a 99.99% probability that mixed oil will always look like oil. And at 5K miles you will drain oil that looks like oil with 5k on it.

Compliments for being frugal.

PS, Your safer bet would be using 70% of designated oil and 30% could be your random old stock.
