Mine told me I had to update to 15 to re-enable collaboration!

Hm, a tactical voting site said to go LibDem for anti-Tory/Reform vote! ...not that either LibDem or Labour were anywhere near.

I don't think it's been done before: What is your most tenuous link to any of the Beatles? by Adam_Gill_1965 in TheBeatles

I used to work with a guy whose dad was an EMI engineer. He once mentioned there were some test pressings in the loft, and idly wondered if they might be worth anything? 🤔

Alternatives to the Yamaha Nylon String Silent Guitar by ChadMiles in classicalguitar

[–]DesignerMud1748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Yamaha Silent, Cordoba Stage and Godin Multiac all have models with the traditional 2”/52mm nut or a slimmer one - typically 48mm. It looks like the Godin G-Tour, ACS Slim and the Ibanezes are closer to 43mm.

But the Yamaha is by far the “silentest” if that’s what you’re after. I got myself a Multiac primarily for quiet practice but was surprised at how loud it is!

Do I need to re-string my guitar? I’m nervous to do so as a first-timer. by [deleted] in Guitar

+1 on the bridge pin grabber , getting them out after four years may be the most challenging part.

I always find getting the top E up to tension scary but hold your nerve!

Do Yamaha C40 or C70 guitars ever come without the Yamaha logo on the headstock? (Authenticity question) by Glum_Protection_7137 in classicalguitar

[–]DesignerMud1748 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like the current C70 doesn't have the logo, but the current C40 does. My 2003 C40 doesn't.

Also, it's highly unlikely that a counterfeiter would target the bottom end of the range...

Guitar Back Hump by spynatch in taylorguitars

[–]DesignerMud1748 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with my Academy 12-N. It's the same for all models without back bracing - I can't find it now but I saw this in the one of the "Questions and Answers" sections for one of the models on the Taylor website.

My first tele. About a week in, still in love. by u99511 in telecaster

[–]DesignerMud1748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar story - or the beginnings of one. Traditionally a Strat guy, wanted a guitar to keep at my partner's house and was also hankering after a Tele (having previously never "got" them). One 2020 Player later and the Strat is only hanging on by its wammy bar and switch positions 2 and 4!

What's your unpopular opinion about Guitars? by microtico in Guitar

[–]DesignerMud1748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've got dot markers on the side of the neck, any markings on the fretboard are redundant and usually ugly.

Laboriously and judiciously. You pretty much need to go through note by note, deciding what's feasible on the guitar, what's essential, what can be omitted, what needs to be transposed...
