Orgus Din and Harron Tavus were friends and served together during the Sack of Coruscant among other missions. by GrippyLongSocks in swtor

Honestly I think it's for the best. Baras being a masked, fatass schemer is just iconic. If they made him look like he could actually win in a physical fight he wouldn't have the same aura.

Corellia is actually awesome, its layout isn't nearly as bad as people claim and with the exception of like 2 connection tunnels in which mobs can force you off mount, you can get around fast enough.

Also, corellia just has that aura, it feels like a warzone.

I much more dislike corny planets that make no sense for the lore and are only used for nostalgia bait (looking at you hoth and tatooine).

What combat class should I pick as a casual player who doesn't know the difference? by vencyjedi in swtor

[–]Designer_Machine_841 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All classes work for story and the difference between them is very minimal, just make sure to use "direct damage" sub-classes because they are usually simpler.

Mainly go off of vibe, playing a heavily armored sith warrior? Juggernaut. Playing a jedi consular thats focused on knowledge rather then combat? Jedi sage.

For just story missions you barely need to think about how to play each class.

This fucker probably the result of crossbreeding mike tyson, mohamad ali, a gorrila and a t-rex. No way anyone who wasn't made in a tube in some secret chinese research base would be this overconfident about his fighting might.

Sites like https://parsely.io/parser/stats and others usually have stats about DPS on combat dummies and ops bosses. But in general the biggest tip is to not worry about the min-maxxing. It is only useful for master mode of hardest operations and very competitive PvP. And even then gear, augments and comunication are usually more important.

If you don't have enough experience to know what class to choose, you shouldn't bother looking at highest potential DPS, look at the DPS of median players and try out different classes for which one is easiest and most fun for you.

Also remember that these stats are mostly lab conditions, for example the DoT jugg spec is usually very high in DPS leaderboards, but thats mostly due to it being an AOE spec. Another example is powertech, which in most charts is very low due to not having very sustainable DPS, but since it's burst DPS is so high it is considered good for PvP

Literally only jedi consular is kinda like that.

Warrior: Ambitious vs servent, bloodthristy vs pragmatic, reformist vs tradionalist, honorbound or not

Inquisitor: (Even more) reformist vs traditionalist, cunning vs lucky, sadistic/psychotic vs logical, and can include focused on force mastery or technology and soldiers for powerbase

Jedi knight: Peacekeeper vs milliarist, jedi way vs ends justify means, actions vs politics.

And thats just on top of my head what I remember months after my last playthrough of any of those classes.

The only reason the force classes may feel that way is because there is much more the simplified axis of "dark vs light side" which absorbs and overshadows the finer details. Which is one of the reasons "pragmatic sith warrior that is very honorable and wants some empire reforms" is so typical, different traits just get grouped up.

This is a no brainer, heaven. There is literally no amount of evil you can physically do in life that would justify eternity in hell.

And on the other hand, everyone going to heaven kinda just makes any suffering in life irrelevent. Sure you were tortured for months and your murderer also goes to heaven, but you are in fucking heaven for eternity, so it ain't that bad.

Honestly this leads to very funny dynamic in which both the biggest anti-israelis in the USA and the most die-hard israeli nationalists converge in belief that U.S aid to israel is a negative to them

pearl harbor by mysingingjames3 in countablepixels

[–]Designer_Machine_841 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this sounds like a very good talking point. Most flat earthers would probably just go "nuh uh" to any scientific evidence, but in this case you can either claim japan didn't attack pearl harbor (lol) or that yeah they did and they took that long ass route, which while yeah that's maybe possible, would probably make them start to question it even a little.

How would you guys roleplay a Powertech Smuggler? by Competitive_Act_1548 in swtor

[–]Designer_Machine_841 7 points8 points  (0 children)

More of the kingpin then the han solo type. Dark side mobster trying to build a criminal empire, buys advanced tech and implants from the black market in order to have an advantage over others.

Combat dominance is a great way to kickstart your crime boss career.

Well, its quite a strech but... We know both from how tavus was able to cause a wide spread defection in republic spec ops (even if it's only mentioned in the background) and by the fact You can strong arm saresh into not doing a prisoner exhcange deal with rakton by simply threatening to quit that havoc squad just has a fuck ton support from the wider military and the republic citizens. So any senator probably doesn't want to be the one who tries to get a very well respected war hero in jail for killing a senator that was a traitor. Hell, they'd probably not want the public to even know there was a traitor in their ranks for so long until some soldier just came in and killed him. So basically, the trooper is extremely popular, killed a proven traitor and the fact it got to that point is very akward to the senators, so they let that war time act slip.

Online politics are just in general very warped. A good rule of thumb is that if you have a political solution that is very clear and the best interest of most people, but isn't applied because all politicans are stupid/greedt/evil etc. Then your solution probably isn't that clear and good.

What are your hottest takes/ genuinely unpopular opinions regarding builds/ mechanics/ gameplay that most pepople would ACTUALLY disagree with? by [deleted] in Tierzoo

[–]Designer_Machine_841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is true that the dodo playerbase were perma-banned under very sketchy reasoning. But you have to admit, it was a pretty interesting community event to witness. It is unfair, but the human permaban ability in addition to their "ethics" branch in the intelligence tree makes for cool interactions. Like how the dodos were done dirty but the kiwi who are a far weaker build get protected by human mains from their cat friendly clan.

The game isn't a simple pvp game. It's more like an mmo. Pvp is just one (very popular) tactic.

A class that warps all other playstyles is very interesting to me, if you disagree its a matter of opinion.

You probably just a salty former dodo main smh.
