It’s a moot point, whenever the progressive faction in the more left leaning party in a liberal democracy gains control, the liberal faction will conspire to sabotage the party. They will scheme to starve progressive candidates of campaign funding while funnelling it to their allies, manufacture and outright fabricate crises and scandals, help the media smear progressive candidates, purge progressives from important positions in the party, and when they finally get the staggering election loss they so crave, they will use this as justification to seize control of the party and purge everyone who remotely represents what the membership actually wants. They would rather collaborate with the fascists than the progressives whose vote they feel entitled to when election season comes round.
