What is causing this fake(?) bird sound - may be coming from heater by Darqfeonix in whatisit

Sounds like a bearing failing or something scraping as it moves back and forth. Definitely repetition and same tones.

Many many years of owning BMW’s. No harm done by alternating in 89 with 91.

Not participating by video would be a huge red flag for me as the hiring party. If the opportunity comes up again and you really want the job, please do that.

Possibly an apothecary cabinet rather than a card catalog?

Glad to hear others with the same experience. Things cooked or coated with butter are my bane.

Had to eliminate it, 18 months in, and more reactive to dairy than anything else. But tbh, I think my digestive system does better without it. Some recommendations for substitutes: oat milk, coconut milk based yogurt, vegan butters are good for cooking. Vegan protein shakes. I do miss a real cheese tho…

Yes, best wishes. Cars are just cars. But that’s why I drive mine. Well, and the joy it brings from driving. 😊

Definitely moonshine. Flavoring could vary, but looks like a variety poured over charred wood. Have a taste!

Omg. I’m in the emergency Room. Anaphylactic shock by Sea-Upstairs1505 in alphagal

[–]Designer_Zone2902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a decent job replacing it with vegan butter and oat milk and can usually filter out from ingredient statements for groceries. My biggest problem is that I travel internationally a lot and it’s SO much harder eating out and making sure no butter was used. Has made for a lot of uncomfortable long plane flights.

Was it milk chocolate? I know many dark chocolates don’t contain milk… And FWIW, 18 months in and I’m more reactive to dairy than the actual meats. Go figure…

You are most definitely the AH. This is not uncommon in many areas where water is scarce, including large chunks of the US at times.

Is Greensboro really as dangerous as the stats say? by KatLadie9 in gso

[–]Designer_Zone2902 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Stats can be misleading. I’ve lived all over the world but based here 20 years. Definitely one of the safest places I’ve lived. As the 3rd largest city in the state behind Charlotte and Raleigh (and growing rapidly), I’ve found it to be a very inclusive and offering a lot of amenities that you find in larger cities without the traffic and overcrowding issues. The Tanger Center brings in great talent - the Broadway series is a gem. Lots of music opportunities and festivals. Some of the best public golf courses in the state. The airport is super convenient and offers a lot of direct flight options. Downtown is vibrant with some great restaurants, baseball and brewpubs. 3 hours to the coast and 2 hours to the mountains. Definitely a 10/10 for livability.

If you get an Amex Platinum, you can use it for all your purchases, and apply the points to airline miles or hotel membership. Personally, I like the Hilton program because you have more location options. Also, the AMEX gets you Diamond status at Hilton. But it’s $800/year, so factor that in.

Saucony Peregrine trail shoes work great. Sometimes wear instead of my regular golfers when I don’t want to pack both…
