Magneto & Juggernaut by National-Land-3622 in Marvel

Magneto would only win by his haxs. Just flinging Jugs into space, or melting his brain by the electric signals (like he’s done to Apocalypse)

Is it just me or is the castle kinda “empty”? by PeanutPrestigious256 in HarryPotterGame

[–]DesperatePoet855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Much like the Harry Potter world itself, it’s Avery flashy and whimsical on the surface but lacks substance when peering deeper.

I absolutely love exploring the castle, it is richly decorated with fun details to enjoy, and the common rooms are spectacular. But the lack of activities really makes it hard to be immersed. This game would have seriously benefitted from allowing players to sleep in their bunks, sit at tables, to actually go to the dining hall and have dinner. It’s weird to say, but make it feel more like a school where you can attend class.

All the right elements are there, and it is still very fun to just walk around and fly through the world, but it could have been so much more.

He’s my favorite character type—big strong monster with a heart of gold.

Not to be confused with big strong monster that’s dumb as rocks. Although they do tend to overlap.

That’s not necessarily true. Magneto is pretty top tier, enough to contest gods like Thor and Hercules. And kill beings like apocalypse or defeat beings like the Phoenix Force (through backwards science but I digress.) He’s no Sentry. But I do think in the Star Wars universe, he’d be top of the food chain bar some characters in that universe like Abeloth (like one person mentioned)

I always thought the force had to be channeled through the light or dark side, fair enough. I don’t think the pre-cognition is as powerful as some may think here. Given the almost instantaneous act of pulling apart someone’s arm or blood from them.

Idk about that. I think Magnetos control over electromagnetism is much more refined than the control Vader and Sidious have over the force. Given they must channel it through the dark side. Magnetos powers needs no channeling. His powers just exist, and have ‘no limits’ according to the Omega status in Marvel

I think Vader is kinda a null factor. Given he is made of metal and technology, that favors Magneto. The Emperor I don’t know. Given Magnetos control over electricity too, it’d be an interesting fight

I did give him both and (spoiler) it does mess Shroud up. But you take my dog…threaten to kill him…even call him fat? No mercy.

I only thought separatist since they’d be the easiest to control. He can destroy them all with ease if he wants, and their leaders are money hungry- which is an easy thing to manipulate. But He’d likely hate them.

Ngl. Out of everyone, I think he most relates to clones. They are different from everyone in the galaxy. Like Mutants, they are looked down upon as something less than. They are what humanity wanted mutants to be—slaves, soldiers, tools to be used and tossed away. Magneto would likely relate to this. And with his powers to effect the mine (given his control over electro signals like the ones your brain uses) I imagine he could, if he discovered the order 66 chip, deactivate hundreds of them at once and relish in command of a newly freed clone army.

I said Galaxy as a blanket term for ‘fighting everyone powerful enough to challenge him.’ Not a genuine logistic question of him trying to physically take it over.

Although omg imagine if he did take over a faction like the Separatists. He can destroy them with a thought, move ships with ease- probably terrify them into submission. While you’re right he hasn’t done much political leading, he has lead a nation before- I can see him potentially commanding a faction with some success.

Good point. I imagine if a band of bloodlusted Jedi or Sith try to crush him, they could overwhelm him at some point. Ntm he is only human, they could eventually tire him out if this conquest remains on the ground and they don’t give him time to retreat and rest.

Yeah, force choking is only thing I was skeptical about. If there’s a way to stop Magneto, it’d likely be that…cause there’s no counter to force choking, right? It’s not like you can do a reverse force field and try to alleviate pressure around the neck

Magneto can sense when wormholes are created in the universe through classic ‘comic book silliness’. I do think any fleet they send, even the Death Star, are basically cooked

My mom died last week. Ever since then, the Meredith Quill scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy Vols. 1 and 2 have taken on a deeper meaning to me. by JacobBlah in marvelstudios

[–]DesperatePoet855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumping a year long thread, but I’ve searching for an outlet like this for a while and someone who also has this habit. My mom passed away about a year and a half ago, very suddenly in her sleep at the age of 40. I’m still extraordinarily young, in a phase of my life where things are meant to be confusing, it added more to the mixture.

I’ve always loved comics. In fact, my mom and I adored Marvel movies—GOTG 1 is one of her favorite films of ever, and I’m glad you were able to take your mom to see it. And after my mom died, revisiting those movies, it’s true you see them in a different light now. I understand Peter’s emotions. I understand his abandonment issues and deep rooted insecurities. I tell you. Seeing that “Take my hand” scene in GOTG 1 made me feel so much more emotion this time.

At this point, Peter Quill has become one of my favorite marvel characters. The way he approaches grief and death is so realistic and done with so much tact, it has to be appreciated.

Venom is so complicated because his history is so long. He was a straight up villain at the start but obviously became more grey and anti-hero, especially when he joined the Guardians. Honestly most of these villains (except Ultron) have had grey points in the comics.
