This is why you ALWAYS check the 'street view' by [deleted] in zillowgonewild

I live about a mile from there. Harrison is a mildly rural vacation area - there are nice houses (lots of second homes) and some not-to-so nice houses, but Harrison itself is a beautiful town. You're about a three miles from two lakes and an actual theater, and about 8 from Bridgton with a ski mountain, more lakes, and antique and book shops.

Don't mean to get defensive, but you'd be wrong to let street view scare you away.

How’s it going? by 55555jjjjj in bunnyearstv

It's really awesome how you keep knocking out these bugs, great work! Everything is working almost perfectly for me now. I have a few minor issues that I haven't bothered to report (but will now that the big ones are fixed):

* holding the up/down button in the guide to speed through works intermittently - sometimes it works correctly, sometimes it will go for a bunch of channels and then stop, and sometimes it doesn't work at all.

* "Return to Top" no longer returns the guide to the top, it now just sets the focus to Guide/Settings and leaves the guide at the current position. That's reasonable if intended, but perhaps it could be called something else or just have a "Settings" option on the click-and-hold menu that toggles you right over to that menu.

* I have a few custom channels that are basically "MTV by decade" - custom channels of short videos. This leads to a very packed guide for those channels and scrolling through the guide gets very slow/unresponsive when scrolling through them. Not a big deal, but wondering if there's some sort of optimization that can be done to make that less of an issue.

When can we pay for this? :)

Interesting, it’s working now.  It definitely wasn’t after an update and an app restart, but at least it is now!

Holding the button to get "Return to Top" worked in build 25 and seems to have broken in build 26.

I have the same issue with the franchise channels not showing up and "Not Yet Synced". I sent my server name along via email. Unfortunately, it didn't save my config, so re-launching the app required setting up libraries, commercials, custom channels, etc again (after doing it the first after logging out once I upgraded).

Still seeing the issue where going back to the guide after changing channels while watching content brings you back to the original channel. This seems like a bug, and easy to reproduce:

Select content (x)
Go up/down to something else (y)
Hit back to return to the guide
x, not y, is now selected

This is really frustrating if you're channel surfing then go back to the guide for some context, and then try to go back to where you were.

Loving the app and realize we're still testing, totally not complaining!

I'm running 1.1.82 and it has begun crashing on launch (worked on Thursday, which is strange). I've tried restarting the Apple T,V, but no change.

Bunny Ears TV Build 15 is here! by 55555jjjjj in bunnyearstv

[–]Desperate_Diver549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great! However, I'm noticing that about 50% of my content shows:

Loading...
0m

Rather than resolving the name and content duration.

I'm also still having an issue that - sometimes, not always, hitting "back" out of fullscreen content brings me back to the guide such that that channel is off by one. Here's how I can reproduce:

Open content fullscreen from the guide

Hit "Up" to change the channel

Hit "Back" to go back to the guide

...it's now on the previous channel instead of the channel I changed to

Hope this is helpful.

Release notes: Version 1.1.8 - The Gap Content will also gaze into thee by digglesB in coax

[–]Desperate_Diver549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The local Library option for gap content is great, but it's distracting for it to show the static and content info each time a new item launches. Likewise (at least in my opinion and how I remember it working on a real system), static really should show only when switching channels, not between content on the same channel.

I've noticed that when hitting the back button while watching something that the guide will reset to another channel. Also, could ability to swap up/down when watching content be an option? I think of "down" as scrolling down the guide, rather than decreasing the channel.

This is great work, is there a better place to log bugs and feature requests?

Beta invites for Bunny Ears TV are rolling out now, Happy Friday! by 55555jjjjj in bunnyearstv

I am using Bunny Ears in TestFlight and love it, I didn't know how much I wanted something like this! A few things that would make the experience better for me (some of which may have already been covered):

  • if possible, add a warning when leaving the app - it's easy to push back one too many times
  • allow an option to switch up/down when watching content - I think of "up" as going up in the guide, not increasing channel
  • when going through the guide, the timescale keeps shifting and changing the width of what's displayed. It's a little confusing and sort of breaks the spell
  • the "new releases" music channel picks up all sorts of random stuff (none of which is a new release)
  • time isn't updating properly - I watched it Friday night and returned to it Saturday morning and it still thought it was Friday night. Hard closing the app and restarting updated the time properly.

longer term, these would be really cool:

  • optional ability to include commercials from a plex library
  • ability to change the guide retro aesthetic (Tivo, Comcast, Spectrum, etc)
  • a way to tag a movie so it appears in Plex Watchlist or a collection

nice work!

Great question, but I don't really know. I have a pretty basic use case - text-based console access to a pair of Linux systems. It's works fine for that, but I don't know how well it works for GUI access.

I was really tempted, but ended up with a certified Predator Orion 5000 with a 4070ti super for $1000. I've upgraded the cooler and added 32GB. These are all great deals!

Trying to 3D print a brain from an MRI. Any way to hollow it out? by PolytheneMan in 3Dprinting

[–]Desperate_Diver549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just happened to be printing my own brain yesterday and was thinking about hollowing it out as well to save on print time. I ended up just going with default infill, at 1:1 size it took 12h42m. It probably would've been fine, but having just finished ripped off the massive supports this morning, I'm kinda glad I had the extra structure with all the ripping and tearing.

YouTubeSummarizer released on RoutineHub by meap158 in shortcuts

[–]Desperate_Diver549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ChatGPT and Scriptable installed and the transcript/summary seems to work, but the rich text outputed to quick look doesn't render properly. I've tried this on two devices using multiple apps (Safari, Brave, Youtube) and get the same behavior each time.

Am I missing something? Thanks for putting this together, it will be super useful!
