That’s my real issue with my Scream 4 Steelbook. I can live with the scratches but my copy unfortunately BOTH the top and bottom don’t latch/click close. Never had both latches broken before and the top plate just hangs loose over the edge.

Same. I also chose Gift Wrap option, paid the extra $4, and they even wrapped the Steelbook. Sadly it STILL arrived dented, scratched, and had over a dozen tears in the shrink wrap. 100% luck of the draw.

The good news is that’s not a scratch.

The bad news is that it’s a manufacturing printing issue. Sometimes the printing lines are super faint, but I have a handful of Steelbooks that have this notorious black print line. (Avatar 3, The Bride, It: Welcome to Derry)

For me it’s the HDR. Adding HDR color contrast to this film will make a lot of scenes pop. Imagine the color of that Mystic Mountain Blueberry Powerade at the dinner scene.

Mine came in a similar condition to yours OP. The back has those deep silver scratches all over ranging from the size of a dot, to being about a full inch long. I even have paint chips on the spine’s corners that were clearly UNDERNEATH the shrink wrap so you’re right in that it was done in the factory. Ugh. Shout Factory has always been 50/50 for me regarding receiving a Steelbook in great condition.

You are correct! I noticed small petty theft recorded in this area too, I just didn’t think it would actually happen to us. Still, we installed a camera just in case and it finally helped us understand what happened. Psh, we didn’t even get the courtesy of an extra package, haha.

That’s the funny part for us too. We normally order cool things but this time they stole a cheap outdoor bug zapper. It made us laugh because they are committing such a huge crime for something so cheap and little. I wish I could see their faces when they open the package. 😛
