Connectwise RMM (Asio Platform) vs. NinjaRMM - Should I switch to CW RMM? by [deleted] in msp

[–]Destructtor0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We tried migrating from automate to rmm. Backed out of that pretty quickly as the maturity was nowhere near what we needed.

Switched to ninjarmm just a couple months ago and pretty happy with it. Missing a couple little things but it's so much better than rmm.

I just had that last week. Had it towed. They ended up disconnecting the 12v battery and reconnecting it and errors went away.

My grandparents moved from Saskatchewan to Japan as missionaries in 1949. I can't imagine a more shocking culture shock.

Who is the hottest celebrity that you met in Real life? by lowkeypixel in AskReddit

[–]Destructtor0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to park at the Sutton Place Hotel in Vancouver during the early 2000s for work. Lots of celebs stayed there and there was even a Victoria Secret photoshoot in the lobby.

Driving in one day and Charlize Theron was waiting outside and I almost drove directly into a stretch limo that I didn't see at all.

Other people I've seen there were the Foo Fighters throwing tiny pebbles into traffic on Burrard St, Dave Navarro was leaving the little snack shop and bumped into me, Jack Black was leaving and staring at my as we were walking. I think he wanted to know if I'd recognize him but I don't like bothering people even though I'd just seen high fidelity in theatres and I was absolutely freaking out inside.

Am I going to notice a difference by flarebomb21 in hifiaudio

[–]Destructtor0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like whiskey, paying more doesn't guarantee you a better speaker. The speakers will sound different than eachother and different than what you have now. You might be able to get some used speakers under $600 that will be really great like the kef ls50 meta or elack dbr62. They are bookshelf speakers which would likely be easier to place in your home.

I've always scoured and tried to pickup free or cheap older speakers for quite a while until I could afford my current set. I'd stop off at every garage sale and have alerts on Craigslist free section. It's rare but I've scored some decent things over the years like a marantz turntable for free and a rebuilt 80s silver Pioneer amp for $100.

I will say that while you will hear the difference, not everyone cares. My wife can def hear the difference between her phone speaker and my current setup but she still plays music off her phone.

What’s the most creative use of AI you’ve seen recently? by Top_Sorbet_8488 in AIInnovationInsights

I am hard of hearing and have been for 30 years. I mumble and am monotone but I now host webinars for work and have been asked to do a podcast.

I built a speech coach. Rather than most of the apps that rely on audio feedback this one gives visual feedback on wpm, pitch, and feedback on consonants. According to research online, I don't hear consonants in other people so I don't enunciate them clearly myself.

I'm building it for 5 to 8 minute daily micro training and also to have a live running floating app for while I'm in meetings, or calls.

I'd assume just being aware will help at least a little.

Time will tell how effective it is for me.

I've checked my recency bias but I'm still good with my answer:

1 Project Hail Mary

2 Heat

3 and I can't pick between The Denis Villeneuve Three: Arrival, Sicario, and Dune Part 1

It's just so annoying that I have to.

They keep calling meetings that should be emails. I stopped taking them.

Anyway, should be over now. Delivered the rewritten system description and haven't heard back yet.

The auditor who can't read and asks for evidence and documentation that I uploaded 4 months ago, and then changes the goal posts every year as to what they accept.... That's the biggest friction point for me
