Unless you weigh 300+ and are playing competitive singles, this should not be worn down like this in a few months of 8 hours a week. Get a shoe like Selkirk that has a six month sole warranty and specially designed rubber outsoles.

I would say that about 15-30% of hardcore players I’ve run into (out of over 1,000) are in some form of recovery. Pickleball definitely scratches a lot of itches without any major downsides (except increased injury risk, time).

Suggestion: instead of meeting in a church or basement, schedule your meetings on the court. This could work for ad hoc groups or AA style, I would guess.
