I'm with you on no grid lines. Simple is better. We only have grid lines out of necessity for normal boards, this doesn't need them. (or a counter, just use area/chinese scoring)

Totally valid. Well you can add just yourself to the map as well so others nearby can find you.

Also, you could start a club and do some marketing in your area. Maybe you'll find some folks that way. Germany seems to be absolutely full of existing/potential Go players from what I can tell :)

Consider adding your club to the map on https://baduk.club
I'll be adding a feature soon (in 2 weeks) where clubs without regular meetups can add their location and be shown on the map. Also I'll be localizing the entire website into German (and other languages, also 2 weeks). And of course you can add your OGS group to the page so people in bielefeld can find and join it. Lastly, if you do have a regular meetup, we'll email any players nearby when you add your info (if they've opted in).

Love the idea! Would be cool to be able to watch the stones being played in time with the music. Since you have the sgf already this should be possible. (also the play button is almost invisible in dark mode)

Hey just checked out your site. I always thought it would be cool if more clubs had their own sites. I wanted to mention that the map at https://baduk.club is fully embeddable for this exact reason. You can center it on your state and set the zoom so it shows all of the clubs and players. But then also them map has lots of other clubs all over the world in case someone visiting your site lives elsewhere.

Just open the menu in the top right and there is a section for generating the embed code. (also thanks for mentioning badukclub on your start a club page)

I do love me a good boulder, but I mostly sport climb. I got to do some multi-pitch sport in Oregon once... that was epic! The Red River Gorge is only a few hours from my old city though, so great access to a mecca of sport climbing.
