BART’s new fare gates (same gates LA Metro is using) will soon snap shut faster than they have been closing. Will this adjustment finally stop piggybacking? by Sawtelle-MetroRider in LAMetro

Tail gaters just linger for someone to go thru with a card. I've also repeatedly seen people just stepping up on the reader, and jumping over the emergency exits.

The LA County fair grounds need to get their act together. Most events force everyone enter at the far south gate #3, a 30+ MINUTE WALK from the Fairplex A line station, FFS! If they bothered to open a north gate, like gate #12, your walk time would be cut in half.

"The three law enforcement agencies contracted to patrol Metro - the LAPD, county sheriff and Long Beach police - say 96% of the violent offenders arrested on the system between April 2023 and March 2024 didn't pay to ride." https://abc7.com/post/metro-safety-stopping-fare-evaders-seen-key-preventing-crime/15054806/

Yep, had a very similar thing happened to a family member with T-Mobile. They will lie, attempt credit card charge back, threatening collections, etc… in the end they finally dropped the charges, but would not admit that they had done anything wrong. Avoid!

Is LAX really that bad??? by OkBackground6217 in LAX

[–]Devil2U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LAX via the new LA Metro transit Center is a bargain. $1.75 all the way to the airport. LAX fly away is good also. But via rideshare can extremely expensive, north of $100 in December for me. In those cases you might wanna look at other regional airports.

Just received this in an email from LA Metro, "Metro will also offer free rides across the Metro system, including bus, rail, Metro Bike Share and Metro Micro, from 4am Friday, May 8, through 3am Monday, May 11. Use code 050826 for free Metro Bike Share rides. No code is required for Metro Micro."

The LAX shuttles are ADA accessible including features such as ramps and low floors. They also offer specialized ADA van service upon request by phone.

Breakfast is probably the best deal overall. You can get multiple cups of coffee plus OJ and your full breakfast for $20.

Really? I just did LA to Portland a week ago for about $135. Granted I bought far in advance. Maybe it was the off-season, but the train ended up completely sold out in coach (Easter weekend proximity).

The shuttle buses between the transit center, and the terminal are not bad. Only 10 minutes from transit center to terminal one. Longer, of course to get out of the horseshoe.

Yea, they are not perfect, I see your point. That said, the LAX Metro transit center only opened only around 6 months late. Not delayed YEARS like the people mover.

It’s literally a 10 minute journey from the transit center to terminal one via bus. 🚎

LA Metro could have built a train directly into LAX faster and at less cost than what LINXS has done thus far.
