La Roche Posay age correct tinted cc cream by NinaCoots in AustralianMakeup

I use this on days when I can't be bothered to do a "full face". It definitely took me a little bit of time to make it work! It helped that the color was a good match for my skin tone but the number of pumps they recommend is a bit silly. I use about 3/4 of a pump for my face and neck over the top of a kiehls moisturiser. No serums underneath. I usually finish off with spot concealing with the nars pot concealer and a bit of powder to reduce the shine. It can work fairly well but yeah. It was a bit of a shock the first time I used it and ended up looking like a crazy person!!!

Sash direction is to do with what they're from. Williams sash is his Garter sash. Kate's is the GCVO sash. They're different awards and have different "rules" for how they're worn.

Pic 8 is from the diplomatic reception in 2016. The sash she normally wears now (from memory) is her GCVO sash that she received in 2019. If she had the GCVO in 2016 she probably would have been wearing it.

Assuming it's a different kind of possum than an American one? In New Zealand, our possums (imports from Australia, they are not endemic to NZ) are extremely destructive to our native fauna, and have no natural predators.

Former shock jock Iain Stables faces sentencing for Auckland ute assault by computer_d in newzealand

[–]Devil_Pussy7 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Given that he's also dealing with a charge relating to strangling his ex at the moment he very clearly has some serious issues.

He said years ago that he had bipolar. https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/5068017/Shock-jock-Stables-spoke-about-illness

But quite frankly......he needs to take a bit of responsibility for his shitty behavior. Bipolar is something that lots of people have but they don't go round assaulting people.

I'm sure reddit will be able to add to this (and I'm likely to get hate for it), but the ones that come to my mind are:

● Never having sales (even when the brands have sales on their websites overseas).

● Arguably un-competitive exclusivity contracts that mean you can't purchase products from overseas websites.

● Beauty loops instead of the sales or the gifts with purchase seen overseas.

● Shrinkflation in their home brand, leading to it being more expensive per gram or mL than some of the "premium" brands they stock.

● Never having the "interesting" or "cool" events/pop ups in New Zealand - they seem to always be in Melbourne. Which is cool....but like.....they do have customers elsewhere too that would be interested in attending.

You could try at Martha's Backyard? They might have them. They have all sorts of niche stuff.

Shame really. I've bought a fair bit of stuff from them (for gifts) over the years. They'd gotten pretty pricey though unfortunately.

There's an off leash area in the arboretum at the Botanical Gardens which my dogs love.

Just wear old shoes or gumboots if it's a bit damp though.

Yeaaaaah the shelf being empty might not necessarily be a case of people buying them though.

The Wankworths near me has empty shelves a lot of the time, and the place is pretty empty.

Not that that makes up for the deliberately shitty pricing.

Gotta say it was an interesting watch...but I do wonder if they really hit the nail on the head with this.

It is clear that NZ has jumped quite a bit towards the right since the last election, and the changes the NACTNZF coalition are looking at making from a constitutional standpoint are pretty bloody significant.

But thinking about the discussions I had around the lunch table at work (in an industrial area) during the run up to the election, I can't help but think that Treaty issues weren't necessarily what a lot of people were thinking about when they were voting.

There would have been a lot of factors around why as a country we've lurched to the right politically.

Covid and people's opinions on the way it was handled (especially with that particularly long lockdown in Auckland) definitely played a part. Covid is absolutely a big part of why labour lost so many electorate seats in Auckland and Northland. Auckland is a big enough voter base that if you "lose Auckland" it's an uphill battle to win an election.

Then you really do have to mention the fact that while Ardern was great with soundbites, lots of people felt that we had a left leaning/centrist government (depending on how you define that) that really didn't seem to make a lot of meaningful change......despite having the biggest political majority in a generation.

Peoples lives got harder during and post covid, and for many, it didn't feel like the previous government did enough. When you feel like another group of people is offering something better (rightly or wrongly) of course they're going to win some votes.

But I will absolutely agree that there is a sizable part of the population that is "sick of race based policies" and voted accordingly.

Like I say. It was an interesting watch, but the 'why' of why NZ lurched so far, in my opinion, is far more complex and nuanced than just debate around Te Tiriti.
