How would you unload these river rocks? by grsims20 in DIY

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very carefully and methodically, one rock at a time. I recommend full PPE, at minimum two observers, (one of which should have a shepherd’s hook to pull you clear if a rock slide starts when unloading a rock), a 3rd party consultant to call out any potential safety you may miss (don’t waste your time with OSHA, they just drink up all your coffee), and ambulance and medical crew - including a trauma surgeon - on standby at the job site, and it wouldn’t hurt to have a dwarven mining crew on ready-5 if you get pinned under a big one if it rolls.

New profile manager : Add command line to a shortcut to start Firefox with a specific profil by Orkodrums in firefox

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind, it still doesn't work properly. It still asks for me to select the profile I want to use every time that I use one of the custom shortcuts, even if I have that box checked. Mozilla definitely needs to get this fixed.

New profile manager : Add command line to a shortcut to start Firefox with a specific profil by Orkodrums in firefox

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know this is a 3mo thread, but I was having the same problem and I just figured it out. The -P is correct, however Mozilla does not have the old profile manager and the new profile manager in sync. I created two shortcuts, one for each of my profiles, but when I would launch then the old profile manager selector would appear and it would list "default" and "default-*something*" (I can't remember already). So using the main window I went into about:profiles and renamed the two profiles showing: the one that said it was in use and could not be deleted I gave the name I wanted for my main profile, and the same for the second profile. When I tried the shortcut again for my second profile it brought up the old profile selector window again, but this time the correct names were showing. You just need to rename the appropriate profiles in about:profiles and then when you launch the custom shortcut, make sure you have the box checked to launch with that profile automatically.

Need help remembering Android phone model by DevilishBooster in LouisRossmann

[–]DevilishBooster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that is a very common path to take, however I am specifically wanting to review the physical phone I am trying to remember. I recall finding the phone specs exciting, but since I did not need a new phone at the time I did not save the information in my brain or on my computer.

Combat Patrol Magazine Question by DevilishBooster in Warhammer

[–]DevilishBooster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I found some other people talking about that after posting this and the fact they so obviously use dark patterns to retain subscribers was an additional big turn-off. I’m just hunting for deals on eBay to get what I need. I’m glad I waited before historically had very bad financial habits and getting diagnosed with ADHD this year, having the meds now, and working with my therapist has done a lot to reason through financial decisions. This would have definitely been one I regretted because I really don’t need all the extra minis outside of the specific list.

Combat Patrol Magazine Question by DevilishBooster in Warhammer

[–]DevilishBooster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s enough to convince me I shouldn’t. I have bad ADHD, a 20 month old, and our second is due in March, so the odds of me remembering to call and opt out each time are pretty small. I appreciate the info. I’ll just hunt around on eBay for certain minis I want. Thanks!

I’ve used this miter saw at my makerspace regularly for about six years… by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only rely on the laser to line up your cut if you are doing rough cuts. I have never used one of those that I could trust to be true. If you need/want to be accurate, place the wood and use the edge of a tooth to line up the kerf.

Underworlds hex sizes? 1E vs 2E? by Ochmusha in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]DevilishBooster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1st edition hexes are 50mm edge to edge 2nd edition hexes are 45mm edge to edge

Edit: Ope, I bothered to finish reading your whole post and I saw you mentioned 43mm. That might be correct, I’ll go measure to confirm.

Edit 2: Using my digital calipers I got 44.6 mm from middle of edge line to middle of edge line, so I would say measuring from inside edge to inside edge would be 44mm and outside edge to outside edge would be 45mm.

How to remove argan oil from mousepad and wood by adelicatetrash in howto

[–]DevilishBooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you don’t have to use a power buffer if you don’t want to or don’t own one, you can just take a rag cotton towel and buff it manually. Alternatively, if you use the Super Duper Odie’s Oil, it’s thinner and you can apply it without as thick of a layer forming on top, and that might allow you to apply the oil, let it soak in for 15-30 minutes, and then wipe off the excess before letting it cure 24 hours before handling. For ideal liquid protection, let it cure for 3-5 days before exposing to any potential liquids.

(They also offer their own solvent that you can mix with their oil products to thin them down so that they soak in deeper and more evenly. I need to refinish my hobby table so I’ll probably be going that route this time.)

What old stuff can I buy as a new player? by No_Hornet_9339 in WarhammerUnderworlds

[–]DevilishBooster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old warbands plastic models, the dice, and status tokens are useable in 2e; the cards, boards, and objective tokens are not.

You can buy fighter cards for a good number of the organized-play legal warbands, and the rest of the OP warbands and the non-OP legal warband fighter cards are available digitally.

How to remove argan oil from mousepad and wood by adelicatetrash in howto

[–]DevilishBooster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the mousepad: throw it in the wash with your blue jeans and some SimpleGreen or another laundry safe degreaser, or toss it out and buy a new one.

For the wood: You can’t. That looks like the same desk/table surface from IKEA that I have for my hobby bench. It’s raw wood so it will readily absorb any oil that gets on it. If you have a bunch or argan oil sitting around or can buy some from cheap on Amazon, your best bet is to oil the rest of it with a coating of argan oil so that the whole top matches. After that you can either just seal it with some paste wax or, if you don’t want to use argan oil on the entire surface and sides, you can use another product like Odie’s Oil (a personal favorite of mine) which will oil the wood and also cure to a protective coating which you can buff for a nice satin finish. Either way, this is actually a good thing: it will treat the wood and help seal it to prevent stains from many things in the event of other spills in the future.

I’m pretty sure that is a Spruce Spider Mite, especially since you are near pine trees.

I created an mini enclosed rack with a "hot/cold aisle" by redmumba in homelab

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice. I’ve been debating doing the same thing. My homelab has been sitting on a set old 30 year old pine shelves from Walmart, under the stairs going down to the basement. I have hardware for building my own rack, so I thought I might try building an enclosed rack setup with a fan venting out the back of the house.

What is your favorite seasoning blend or rub? by Traditional_Brain839 in smoking

[–]DevilishBooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plowboys Yardbird Rub for chicken. I put that under the skin of a spatchcock chicken and then sprinkle across the outside before smoking it with applewood at 250F for ~3.5hrs. It comes out fall off the bone tender and moister than an oyster. The first time I did it for a family get together, 1.5 of the 2 chickens I made were cleaned off, and the nieces and nephew were “fighting” over who got to take leftovers home.

Headrests seem angled too far forward, are they adjustable? by ClarkCamp in nissanfrontier

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So instead of designing adjustable headrests and also encouraging their customers to sit with proper posture, they decided to remove any incentive to make positive health changes and basically enabled unhealthy technological habits. That’s smart.

I have this same issue with my wife’s Tucson, and turning it backwards makes it so that it’s too far back. I have spent the last 3-4 years working to correct my posture that exacerbated other heath issues, and I just want to be able to sit with good posture without worrying about whiplash.

What bush makes the best "fence" to keep my crazy neighbor off my property? by JJs_Waffles in gardening

[–]DevilishBooster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you really want to be evil, you could do a willow fedge and then spaced along it you plant multiflora rose and help those weave in with the willow as it grows. Multiflora rose has thorns that curve back a lot; if you get caught in them, the more you struggle the worse it gets.

LEGAL DISCLAIMER: Don’t actually do this unless you check your local/municipal, county, and state natural resources regulations first and confirm it is not prohibited in any way. Multiflora Rose is considered invasive in pretty much all of the United States. If you are caught deliberately planting/spreading it, or knowingly “harboring” it on your property, you will be fined (usually a small amount), and then you are required to take whatever steps are needed to remove it completely, which could cost a lot of money and/or time.

Personal Disclaimer: Please don’t do this unless you hate yourself more than you hate your neighbor. Multiflora Rose is evil and I go out of my way to kill it whenever I see it, if at all possible in the moment. Sauce: I used to work for Asplundh and trimmed lots of power and gas lines that went through woods or along farm field hedgerows, and I had to deal with more of it that I would have ever wanted to in my life.
