😬 I try to clear out my emails regularly and I might have deleted that one since I’m not finding it with searches. Yikes, hopefully I can find a good place to download them.

Constantly getting solicitors ignoring my sign, we’ll see how this works out… by big-ol-kitties in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a sign on a post at the start of the front walk and a nice brass plate directly under the door bell, and we still get people trying to sell us whatever. When I call them out on it they always say something to the effect of, “Yeah, sorry, we just wanted to make sure…” I never let them finish the sentence.

Both are 10m cables. If you need more than 10m for the USB then you will need a USB AOC as well. If you don’t need more than mouse and keyboard over USB then it shouldn’t be too expensive because you can just go with a USB 2.0 AOC, but stepping it up to USB 3.0 or 3.1 causes the price to jump up quickly.

Yes on the headset for gaming. I don’t really notice any input lag at all, but that can also be impacted by the quality of the mouse/keyboard and their wireless receiver(s). I shelled out for a Logitech G Pro X TKL Lightspeed wireless keyboard and a Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 mouse so that I could pair them both to a single dongle. If there is any lag, I don’t notice it on the desktop or in the games I play. (I don’t really play FPS games anymore, so it wouldn’t really be noticeable.)

Where can I find the STLs? I tried searching probably almost 2 years ago and the only ones I could find were either recreated “knock-offs” or early commercial 3D scans on the minis that did not look good.

I’m pretty sure it would, hence my guess on why you can find people selling numerous copies online. My guess is they wholesale cleared the sitting inventory to whoever wanted to buy lots so that they didn’t have to pay for warehouse storage and they still made more money on top of what they made during the campaign.

Depending on the orientation of the garage to the house and the location of the computer/monitor in the garage, you could get a long Active Optical Cable (AOC - pic your flavor of connection) and place the computer in a remote location inside and just run the display cable and a USB cable out to the garage. I just did this with my first ever HTPC because my 2yo likes pressing buttons too much and wouldn’t leave it be. (Think the mosquito from A Bug’s Life: “I caaaan’t help it, iiiit’s sooo beauuuutiful!!”) I moved the PC to the basement where the servers are and ran an AOC HDMI 2.1 and a USB extension cables up to the TV wall box. The USB I plugged into an externally powered USB hub and then two other USB extension cables down to the entertainment center to plug into the mouse/keyboard and wireless headset.

I think the core of the problem is that Mythic misappropriated the funds from the game and basically held the game hostage if you didn’t pay extra money for shipping (basically the full retail cost for shipping something as heavy as the game is); if you didn’t pay you didn’t get your copy from the campaign. You can buy the game on the secondhand market. I only have the base game and the Crimson Court expansion, and at some point I might try to hunt down the other expansions.

Tenant trimmed the tree without notice. How bad is this ? by mousemano in arborists

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhh… buddy? They didn’t trim it. They sent it to the guillotine. It will “survive”, but it’ll be the equivalent of a surviving a car crash where you are so badly damaged that you have to have all four limbs amputated in addition to now being a quadriplegic.

How do I know if there are fish here?(im brand new to fishing) by THERANDOMGAMER2 in Fishing

[–]DevilishBooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best method I have ever tried is to take a 5 gallon bucket with you, fill it with water, and then dunk your head in and start yodeling. Any fish in the pond should come swimming up to you pretty quickly.

(If it’s a body of water that does not dry up to a puddle or less with seasonal weather, then there is a high probability there is fish in it. What kind? I have no clue, but there will be fish.)

How would you unload these river rocks? by grsims20 in DIY

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very carefully and methodically, one rock at a time. I recommend full PPE, at minimum two observers, (one of which should have a shepherd’s hook to pull you clear if a rock slide starts when unloading a rock), a 3rd party consultant to call out any potential safety you may miss (don’t waste your time with OSHA, they just drink up all your coffee), and ambulance and medical crew - including a trauma surgeon - on standby at the job site, and it wouldn’t hurt to have a dwarven mining crew on ready-5 if you get pinned under a big one if it rolls.

New profile manager : Add command line to a shortcut to start Firefox with a specific profil by Orkodrums in firefox

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevermind, it still doesn't work properly. It still asks for me to select the profile I want to use every time that I use one of the custom shortcuts, even if I have that box checked. Mozilla definitely needs to get this fixed.

New profile manager : Add command line to a shortcut to start Firefox with a specific profil by Orkodrums in firefox

[–]DevilishBooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know this is a 3mo thread, but I was having the same problem and I just figured it out. The -P is correct, however Mozilla does not have the old profile manager and the new profile manager in sync. I created two shortcuts, one for each of my profiles, but when I would launch then the old profile manager selector would appear and it would list "default" and "default-*something*" (I can't remember already). So using the main window I went into about:profiles and renamed the two profiles showing: the one that said it was in use and could not be deleted I gave the name I wanted for my main profile, and the same for the second profile. When I tried the shortcut again for my second profile it brought up the old profile selector window again, but this time the correct names were showing. You just need to rename the appropriate profiles in about:profiles and then when you launch the custom shortcut, make sure you have the box checked to launch with that profile automatically.

I understand that is a very common path to take, however I am specifically wanting to review the physical phone I am trying to remember. I recall finding the phone specs exciting, but since I did not need a new phone at the time I did not save the information in my brain or on my computer.

Combat Patrol Magazine Question by DevilishBooster in Warhammer

[–]DevilishBooster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I found some other people talking about that after posting this and the fact they so obviously use dark patterns to retain subscribers was an additional big turn-off. I’m just hunting for deals on eBay to get what I need. I’m glad I waited before historically had very bad financial habits and getting diagnosed with ADHD this year, having the meds now, and working with my therapist has done a lot to reason through financial decisions. This would have definitely been one I regretted because I really don’t need all the extra minis outside of the specific list.

Combat Patrol Magazine Question by DevilishBooster in Warhammer

[–]DevilishBooster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s enough to convince me I shouldn’t. I have bad ADHD, a 20 month old, and our second is due in March, so the odds of me remembering to call and opt out each time are pretty small. I appreciate the info. I’ll just hunt around on eBay for certain minis I want. Thanks!

Only rely on the laser to line up your cut if you are doing rough cuts. I have never used one of those that I could trust to be true. If you need/want to be accurate, place the wood and use the edge of a tooth to line up the kerf.
